Will Terry (right) of the Orleans American Legion Post #69 is shown here presenting Orleans Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Robert Henderson with a check, representing a portion of the legion's proceeds from this year's Dogwood Carnival. The legion has been a longtime community partner with the local chamber and the annual Dogwood Festival sponsoring the midway for the town's signature event. Supporting organizations doing fun-raisers during the Dogwood Festival traditionally donate back a portion of their proceeds to help offset some of the cost involved with keeping the festival going year after year.
