Orleans Chamber of Commerce is finalizing plans for its upcoming 16th Annual Fall Fun Fest in the Park set for Saturday, October 12th. Chamber Executive Director Robert Henderson said the local Chamber is once again planning to host several fun fall family type activities downtown Orleans on this Saturday and hope everyone will come out and join in the festivities.
Some of the planned events include Orange County Homegrown’s Beer and Brats 5K, farmers market, arts and craft vendors, children’s activities, classic car show, entertainment, food and more. Judging of the Chamber’s Scarecrow Decorating Contest and winner announced will take place on the morning of the 12th as well.
Chamber officials are encouraging residents and business owners alike to help dress up the town with colorful fall décor i.e., pumpkins, mums, straw bales to help usher in autumn in historic Orleans.
As has become a tradition Henderson has announced that a special Kick Off Event is planned for the Friday night prior on October 11th with a “Block Party” with a FREE Front Porch Concert beginning at 6 pm at the 1847 Historic Home of Larry Padgett and family 1 block of the town square on W. Washington Street. Hometown Scoops will also be holding an old-fashioned ice cream social that night starting at 5 pm. Washington Street will be blocked off during that time from traffic between Second and Third Streets.
In addition, Henderson shared that residents and their families are being encouraged to come out that Friday night and engage with their Fire and Police Departments who will be set up on Washington Street with safety and emergency vehicle displays. Everyone welcome!
