Perry L. Thompson Jr., 51, of Bedford, died at 8:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born March 16, 1964, in Bedford, he was the son of Perry L. and Roberta (Henderson) Thompson. He was a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School with the Class of 1983. He was an ASE certified welder and had worked at Cessna Welding Co. in Mitchell. He had worked for Salt Creek Flea Market and Auction Service and had been a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include a half-sister, Brenda K. Ikerd, of Bloomington; a cousin, Glenda Cobb and husband Jack, of Springville; his best friends, Brian Keith Otwell of Bedford, Carolyn Hatfield of Bloomfield and Jack Cobb II, of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2 at Patton Hill Cemetery with John Lee officiating. Burial will follow.

Kevin Garald Elmore

Kevin Garald Elmore, 60, passed away peacefully at his home in Crystal Lake, Ill. on Dec. 22 after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on Dec. 20, 1955 in Bedford, the son of Donald and Lucy “Jane”(Loveall) Elmore.
Kevin grew up in Bedford. He graduated from Bedford High School in 1974. After high school he attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute. Early in his career he was a pilot for Brown Aviation and Tower Fuel, before joining American Airlines where he was a pilot for 29 years, 23 of which he was a Captain.
Kevin married Margo (Mackay) in 1983 in Northfield, Ill. In 1989, they moved to Crystal Lake, where they raised their three children. They were happily married for 32 years.
Kevin served in many capacities as an American Pilots Association (APA) volunteer starting in 1992. He worked over seven years on the APA Safety Committee and ultimately was both Deputy Chairman and Chairman. Between 2009 and 2012 he served as the ORD Vice Chairman. His common sense approach coupled with the relationships he had cultivated during his many years as an APA volunteer allowed him to positively influence the outcome for the benefit of all pilots. He will be greatly missed by all that loved him.
Kevin is survived by his beloved wife, Margo; his loving children, Christina (Michael) Sullivan, Patrick, Timothy; sister, Bethanne (Geoff) Hanover; cherished grandchild, Haylee; nieces and nephews, Eleanor, Zachary, John, Jordan, Alexandra, Shawn, Amy; and many other relatives.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Northfield Community Church, 400 Wagner Rd. Northfield, IL 60093. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m on Monday at Northfield Church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Kevin’s name be made to Make a Wish, JDRF, Brain Cancer Research, or NorthShore Hospice.

John Stephen Foddrill, 70, of Washington, Indiana, passed away on December 26, 2015, after a brief illness.
He was born January 23, 1945, Bedford, Indiana, to John A. and Eulah Carpenter Foddrill. He married Rossine Bertran on January 30, 1965.
Steve worked at Carpenter Body Works in Mitchell, Indiana, before opening Washington Ford-Mercury in Washington, Indiana in 1985. He later worked for Air-Evac Lifeteam.
Steve was very active in both the Lawrence County and Daviess County communities. He served as the president of the Mitchell and Washington Rotary Clubs. He also served as an elder in the Mitchell Presbyterian Church and the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Washington. He was a volunteer with Daviess Community Hospital and The Compassionate Friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his son, John Foddrill. He is survived by his wife, Rossine; daughter, Patricia Foddrill Barnett; a sister, Jill Foddrill Jackson; grandchildren, Anna, Joseph, and Margaret Barnett; and Grace Foddrill. In addition, he is survived by foster son, Larry Jenkins, his wife Molly, and their children, Benjamin, Thomas, Emma Jenkins.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Cheryl Thorne officiating.

Dean Franklin “Frank” Grimes, 82, passed away Monday, December 28, 2015, at Mitchell Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born June 15, 1933, in Mitchell, he was the son of Noah Simpson and Bessie Mae (Tolbert) Grimes. He married Sharon Kay Houchin October 18, 1957. His second marriage was to Leone (Fannin) Graves January 10, 1997, and she preceded him in death September 27, 2010. On July 28, 2012, he married Charlotte (Runyon) Goffinet.
Frank retired after 43 years as a welder from Carpenter Body Works, and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1951. He was a lifelong member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church where he taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving are wife, Charlotte Grimes of Mitchell; sons, Michael Grimes of Muncie, and Philip (Dixean) Grimes of Idaho Falls, Idaho; mother of his children, Sharon Kay Abbott of Leesburg, Fla.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Virginia Nickerson of Pomona, Calif., and Roberta Freeman of Mitchell. His parents; wife, Leone; and sister, Mary Rohn, preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 31, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with the Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 9107.

Charlene K. Bradway, 64, of Bedford, died Saturday at her residence.
Born April 21, 1951 in Dennison, Ohio, she was the daughter of Charles Austin Schaffter and Belva Irene (Dodds). She married Raymond Bradway on August 14, 1971, and he survives. She was a school teacher at Burris Elementary and retired in 2013. She was affiliated with the Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond, of Bedford; mother, Belva, of Anderson; son, Kevin Bradway and his wife Mandy, of Bloomington; daughter, Carla Hutchinson and her husband Trevis, of Bedford; three grandchildren, Peyton, Trevin, and Carter Hutchinson; one brother, Wayne Schaffter and his wife Beth, of Anderson; two nieces, Andrea and Lauren. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; and wife Brenda Whitaker.

Sonja Faye (Hardin) Taylor, 72, of Bedford passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. at her residence.
She was born in Edinburgh in 1943 to William M. Hardin and Agnes (Giles) Hardin. She was retired from Taylor’s Fabric Store in Bedford.
Survivors include three sons, Dewayne (Marci) Taylor of Salcha, Alaska, William “Bill” (Sheila) Taylor of Mitchell, and Eric Taylor of Bedford; grandchildren, Danny Taylor, Phillip Taylor, Greg Taylor and Miranda Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Evie Taylor and Tristan Taylor; and one brother, William “Buddy” Hardin of Edinburgh.

Born October 21, 1936, in Texas, she was the daughter of Donavan and Katheryn Gooldy. She married Richard L. Finley, and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2014. She was a homemaker. She cultivated and hybridized daylilies at Finley’s Lily Pad. She was a member of Englewood Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Finley of Bedford; a daughter, Sue Finley of Bedford; two grandsons, Clint Finley and wife, Amber, and Luke Finley, all of Bloomington; three great-grandchildren, Shylie, Addy and Aubrey Finley. Kelvin J. McGill, 57, of Bedford, died Saturday, December 19, 2015, at his residence.
Born March 1, 1958, in Bedford, he was the son of Joseph and Betty (Raines) McGill.
He was a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School with the Class of 1978 and was raised in the Church his whole life. He worked in maintenance at Garden Villa, Bedford.
Surviving are his mother, Betty McGill, Bedford; one sister, Kim Watson (John Gill), Bedford; nephews that he loved like his own children, Michael (Kathy) and Paul (Brooke) Mosqueda; and nephews, Evan (Jaci), Kyle and Tanner (fiance’ Katelyn) Watson; great nephew, Gabe Mosqueda; several cousins and close friends; and his dog “Charlie.”
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

He worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years and was an avid fisherman and NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his mother, Sheila Waldridge of Paoli; four brothers, Wayne (Robin Sweet) Ray of Orleans, Henry Ray of Bedford, Andy Evans of Orleans, Johnny (Rhonda) Dillard of Orleans; three sisters, Robin Ray of Paoli, Brenda Schofield of Orleans, Janie (Kenneth) McCullough of West Baden Springs; loved by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Dad, Charles Dillard; one sister, Brenda Lane.

Nellie Jean (nee Altop) (Wier) Stancombe, 86, a lifelong resident of Bloomington, IN died, Tuesday night, December 15, 2015, at the I.U. Health Hospice House. She was born January 21, 1929, in Bloomington to Anise Nye Altop and Gertie Marie (Petit) Altop. She was retired from Indiana University Campus Food Department.
Survivors include her daughter, Catherine Wier of Mishawaka, IN; son, Donald Wier and his wife Celia of Mooresville; one grandson, Jared Wier of Mooresville; special friend, Mose Austin of Bedford; four sisters, Mildred Hatley, Nancy Musgrave, Alma Beers, and Patty Scott; one brother, Billy Altop; and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billie R. Stancombe; son, Ronald Wier; seven sisters, Rachel Mitchner, Helen Langley, Mable Frye, Lucille Pedro, Betty Jean Altop, Cora Richardson, and Dorothy Lucas; and three brothers, Donald Altop, Edward Altop, and Bobby Altop.
Nellie had worked at the Poplar Hotel where she was head of housekeeping. She left that job to work for Indiana University, where she spent 23 years in the Campus Food Department. She earned recognition for years of faithful and loyal service. On her retirement, a party was hosted by the Campus Food Department and was attended by several co-workers, friends, and family.
Nellie was very active in the American Legion Auxiliary, Burton Woolery Post 18, for several years. She received a lifetime membership and was chosen as Women of the Year in 1989. She served as President of the Auxiliary for two years. She also received Woman of the Year commendations at the 7th District Convention in Indianapolis and at the National Convention in Phoenix, Arizona.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Tuesday December 22, 2015, at 4 p.m. in the Sun Room of the American Legion, Burton Woolery Post 18, 1800 W Third St. There is no visitation scheduled. Private entombment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel. If friends so desire, Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mary S. Lee, 87, of Bedford, passed away Thursday at Garden Villa in Bloomington. Mary was born on December 24, 1927, in Bedford, Indiana, to William Norman and Ida Jane (Inman) Brazzell. On November 25, 1949, she married Morris R. Lee. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1965, at the age of 39.
Mary is survived by her three children, Alan W. Lee (Penny), Lori A. Lee, and Susan J. Massette (Ryan); eleven grandchildren, Shannon L. Johnson (Chris), Kody R. Lee, Kyler Lee (Leah), Amanda J. Purdy (Marcus), Austin W. Lee (Holly), Aaron Lee, Brianne Hofmann, Alex Hofmann, Colby Hofmann, Adam Massette and Andrew Massette; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna (Brazzell) Moore of Indianapolis; one brother, Charles Dean Brazzell of Bedford; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lois A. McGlothlin, 69, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 4:34 p.m. at Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis after an extended illness.
She was born on August 12, 1946 in Sullivan to Clarence and Virginia French. She married Robert L. McGlothlin on April 23, 1991, in Bloomington and he survives.
Lois was an Assistant Shift Manager at Bob Evans Restaurant in Bedford.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. McGlothlin of Bedford; two sons, Jesse L. McGlothlin and Joshua S. McGlothlin, both of Bedford; and one brother, Bill French of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James French and Tom French.

Retired teacher, farmer and World War II veteran Dale Eugene White, 91, of Paoli passed away December 15.
Mr. White was born July 11, 1924, to Glendon and Grace Sloan White in the community known as Bacon in Orange County’s Southeast Township. He was a 1942 graduate of Paoli High School, served in the 87th Division of General Patton’s Army during World War II.and graduated from Oakland City College in 1949.
Mr. White taught school for a total of 31 years at Marshall Township (Needmore) in Lawrence County and Paoli Community Schools. In addition to teaching school Mr. White worked for McIntosh Pontiac, Finney Kaiser-Frazier, Stone City Construction and the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant (Charlestown). On the family farm at Bacon he raised Polled Hereford cattle and several varieties of apples in the orchard.
Mr. White was united in marriage with Miss Dorothy Evelyn Toliver on July 1, 1951, and she survives. He is also survived by the couple’s three children: Karen (Mark) Verble, West Baden Springs; Carol (Duane) Rawlins, Shelbyville and David White, Marion OH. Four grandchildren also survive: Robin (Seth) Pearson, Lubbock TX; Todd Verble, Lexington KY, and Kayla and Kyle Rawlins, Shelbyville, along with one great grandchild, Evelyn Grace Pearson, Lubbock TX.
Mr. White was a member of Indiana Farm Bureau, Orange County Farm Bureau, Southeast-Greenfield Township Farm Bureau, Marengo Christian Church, American Legion, and AARP. He was a former member of the Indiana State Teachers Association, Orange County Retired Teachers Association, Orange County Cattlemen’s Association and American Polled Hereford Association. He provided leadership by serving on the board of directors for Producers Marketing Association (Milltown), Orange County Farm Bureau Cooperative Association Inc. and Orange County Farm Bureau Inc. For 40 years Mr. White served as the secretary-treasurer for and caretaker of the Harned Chapel Cemetery.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 18, at 1:30 p.m. at the Harned Chapel Cemetery located near English with Bruce Hawkins officiating, military rites being conducted by the American Legion Warren Brock Post and arrangements being handled by McAdams Mortuary, Paoli.

Robert Dean Jackson, 86, of Greensburg, went home to be with his Heavenly Father, on Dec. 13, 2015. He was born on July 16, 1929 in Switz City, Indiana the son of Curtis and Mrytle McCart Jackson. Robert was a 1948 graduate of Bedford High School. He married Caroll Rosalie Morris on July 22, 1950 and she preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 2011. Robert and Caroll owned and operated Jackson Office Equipment from 1957 until their retirement in 2008. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Gideon’s, NAUS, and the AM Vets. Robert served over 20 years in the National Guard, he was a Captain and Tank Commander.
Survivors include: sons, Brent (Chris) Jackson and Brian Jackson; daughter, Sheileena Essex, all of Greensburg; grandchildren, Brian (Becky) Jackson, Richard (Heide) Jackson, Timothy Jackson, Allison (Devon) Brown, Tony (Kylie) Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Corinne, Colby, Dalton, and Jadon Jackson, Dominic and Gabriel Brown, and Kamdenn McKinney; brother, Delano Jackson of Bedford; and sister, Iris Hubbard of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife and brother, Donald E. Jackson; sister, Vera Drehobl; and two great-grandchildren.

Ellen Elaine (Saunders) Reeves, 68, of Fayetteville, passed away at 12:28 a.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at Indiana University Health Hospital, Bloomington.
Born July 2, 1947, in Bloomington, Indiana, she was the daughter of Lester and Anne (Arthur) Saunders.
She married Ronald G. Reeves on February 3, 1967; he preceded her in death on April 3, 2015.
Ellen was a graduate of Fayetteville High School, Class of 1965. She retired from NWSC Crane in February after 40 plus years of service. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed mushroom hunting. Ellen was known in the community as “Yellin’ Ellen”.
Surviving are her parents, Lester and Anne Saunders; two daughters, Melinda Reeves (Mike Fish) of Bedford, and Melanie (Chris) Scott of Springville; two sons, Brent (Jennifer) Reeves of Bloomington, and Trent (Jennifer) Reeves of Martinsville; seven grandchildren, Brianne, Blake, Emma, Lexie, Cade, Tyler, and Olivia; one great-grandchild, Jaxton; and one brother, Paul Saunders.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; and one brother, Jim Saunders.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, December 17, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, with Pastor Kenny Walden officiating. Burial will be in Beyers-Rainboldt Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday, 2-8 p.m.. at the funeral home.

Robert Lee “Bob” Page, 58, of Springville, passed away at 6:25 p.m. Friday at Indiana University Health in Bloomington.
Born Oct. 31, 1957, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Louie Dale and Elma Louise (Flynn) Page. He married John Messimore, his lifelong partner and best friend, on Dec. 15, 2014, and he survives.
Bob attended Oolitic High School, and worked as store manager for Circle K in Bloomington until his retirement in 2014.
Surviving are two daughters, Jessica (Dustin) Cline of 29 Palms, Calif., and Corey (Tom) Himes of Fort Worth, Texas. Also surviving are his mother, Louise Page of Springville; two brothers, Danny (Medy) Page and Jerry Page of Springville; two sisters, LaDonna Page of Springville and Susan (George) Rio of Oolitic; five grandchildren, Taylor, Brayden, and Ryleigh Cline, and Aiden and Adelyn Himes; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; a niece, Kimberley Shirley; paternal grandparents, Richard and Odessa Page and maternal grandparents, Floyd and Sarah Flynn.
Funeral service will be in the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary at 11 a.m. on Wednesday with Pastor Tim Moran officiating.
Visitation will be held at Day & Carter Mortuary on Tuesday, Dec.15, from 4-8 p.m.

Shirley Maxine Holmes, 79, of Springville, died at 11:05 p.m. on Saturday at Indiana University Health Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born Oct. 11, 1936, in Illinois, she was the daughter of Lemuel and Ruby (Mudd) Briner. She married Maxwell Gene Holmes on Oct. 31, 1952, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 2001.
She retired as a housekeeper at Indiana University at the president’s home. She was a member of the Bethel Christian Church.
She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was an avid gardener and a great cook. She was a God fearing woman who loved her family very much.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen J. Beasley of Owensburg, Rhonda Bell and husband Charley of Springville and Molly Ratliff of Bedford; a son, Terry Holmes of Springville; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a brother, Dillard Briner and wife Dolly of Bellvue, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Cathy L. George; a brother, Buddy Briner; and two sisters, Geraldine Clarkson and Jeanette Polyak.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bethel Christian Church in Greene County with David Self officiating. Burial will follow in Dishman Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service on Wednesday at the Bethel Christian Church.

Constance E. Shelton, 91, of Bedford, passed away at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday at White River Lodge in Bedford.

Born Dec. 20, 1923, in Jackson County, Constance was the daughter of Leo and Lula Edwards Nance. She married Vincent E. Shelton on Oct. 8, 1949. He preceded her in death.
She loved her family above all things. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting.
She was formerly a member of the Vallonia United Methodist Church.
Until Thanksgiving day, she lived at Cambridge Square Apartments and loved her friends and acquaintances.
She is survived by her daughter, Peg (Tony) Reitman of Mitchell; grandson, Marshall Roe of Norristown, Pa.; sister, Martha Wheeler of North Vernon; sisters-in-law, Frances Shelton and Elaine Shelton of Seymour and Vivian Bowers of Vallonia; and many beloved family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, David; and brothers, Clyde, Robert, and Richard Nance.

Col. Richard Fields

Col. Richard “Archie” Fields, USA (Ret.), 76, passed away peacefully on Friday evening at the Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Morgantown.
Archie was born in Bedford on April 18, 1939, to his parents, the late Leonard M. and Esther M. (Bivens) Fields. He graduated from Shawswick High School in Bedford and went on to attend Butler University in Indianapolis.
Archie began his lengthy and accomplished military career with the United States Army in May of 1957. He received a Master’s Degree from the United States Army Command and General College in Leavenworth, Kan. Archie retired with the rank of Colonel after 34 years of service.
He also worked as a Production Supervisor for Arvin Industries in Franklin for seven years and for AT&T as a Technician for 15 years. Archie was the owner and operator of Fields Custom Cutting Lumber Business.
He was a 45 year member of the First Christian Church of Morgantown where he was very active as an Elder, Trustee, Sunday School Teacher and building maintenance.
He was a former member of the Nineveh Masonic Lodge No. 317 and the Murat Temple and Scottish Rite, both of Indianapolis. Archie was known for his giving heart and his love for his family.
He is survived by his children, Tim (Annette) Fields of Nashville, Lora (Johnny) Smith of Noblesville, Darren (Candie) Fields of Morgantown and Christopher Fields of Milwaukee, Wis.; brothers, Tom (Betty) Fields of Scottsburg and Mark Fields of Bedford; grandchildren, Brandon and Madison Fields, Zachary and Nicholas Smith, and Haylee, Hanna, Hunter, Justice, Jadyn and Jace Fields; and a great-granddaughter, Averie Fields.
Archie was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Robert “Bob” Fields and Carolyn Ann Haws.
The Rev. Burt Brock will conduct a funeral service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the First Christian Church of Morgantown, 2717 S. Morgantown Road. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the service on Wednesday at the church. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Leatherwood Christian Church Cemetery in Bedford with military rites presented by the Bedford American Legion Honor Guard Post No. 33.

Beulah Margaret Armstrong, 96, of Williams, died at 12:15 a.m. on Friday at Bliss Place.
Born Dec. 23, 1918, in Daviess, County, she was the daughter of Waldo Emerson and Beulah (Hobson) Spreen. She married Charles Cecil Armstrong on July 10, 1937, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 2007.
Margaret was a member of the Bedford Free Methodist Church, Red Hat Society, Department Club, Ladies Bible Study, Daughters of American Revolution, Williams Home Demonstration Club, a self-employed real estate broker and had also been employed at Buck Lemon Furniture and Bedford Jr. High School

Survivors include her companion, Kevin Patton of Heltonville; three daughters, Amber Smith and companion Ronda of Indianapolis, Angela Webster and husband Doug of Mitchell, and Terry “Linny” Porter of Bloomington and boyfriend, Jacob York of Mitchell; five grandchildren, Aubrey, Kaden, Lucas, Hailey and Mason; her father, William Baugh; one brother, Billy Baugh Sr of Indianapolis; two stepsisters, Cheryl (Dennis) Hubbard and Mona Lee (Phil), both of Indianapolis; one stepbrother, Allen (Angie) Lee of Indianapolis; and her life-long best friend, Tomi Hudson.
She was preceded in death by her mother; one daughter, Amanda Smith; a nephew, Billy Baugh Jr. and stepmother, Sue Baugh.

Noble Harrison

Noble “Dobie” Harrison, 49, of Paoli, passed away Thursday at his home.
He was born May 23, 1966, in Bedford, to Donald Allen Harrison and Caroline Watson Harrison.
He was preceded in death by his father and one grandchild Lailah Eisele. He married Lauren Merritt Harrison on Nov. 20, 2010.
He retired due to disability caused by glioblastoma from Mulzer Crushed Stone Inc., in Tell City. He worked at their Cape Sandy Quarry location in Leavenworth as a certified aggregate-technician.
He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Paoli, and had served the Lord by ministry and outreach. His greatest hope was that everyone understand, accept, and follow the power and the path of Jesus in their lives.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Lauren Merritt Harrison of Paoli; his mother, Caroline Harrison of Bedford; two sons, Seth Harrison and Isaiah Merritt, both of Paoli; four daughters, Amanda LuAllen Childers and Matt of Springville, and Brittany Eisele, Lillian Gray and Violet Gray all of Paoli; four siblings, Donnie Harrison of Elkhart, Deanna Harrison Stryker of Ontario, Canada, and Don Harrison and Toby Harrison and Whitney, all of Bedford; and two sisters, Sheila Harrison and Shirley Edington, both of Bedford. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Maverick, Lincoln, Reagan, Creed and Deacon. Many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at First United Pentecostal Church in Paoli with Pastor Don Laird officiating. Interment will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Bedford.
Visitation to be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the service on Monday at the First United Pentecostal Church.

Roberta was a graduate of Bedford High School. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Dunn Hospital.

Loye C. Pourner Sr., 76, of Buddha, passed away peacefully at 11:28 a.m. on Dec. 2 at Kindred South in Greenwood.
Born Sept. 27, 1939, Muskogee, Okla., the son of John Pourner (married to Ruby Pourner) and Reathal Scott (Bennett) (married to William Scott).
Loving and devoted husband, married to Gloria Pourner (Brady) May 10, 1957, who preceded him in death June 3, 2011.
Loye a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. While serving, he was awarded the Marksman Badge.
Loye was a retired construction worker owning his own business (L.P. & Sons construction) as well as foreman for Walt Williams construction in Fort Worth Texas. After retiring from the construction industry he worked for the Hoosier National Forest department.
He was a member and deacon of White River Baptist Church.
Surviving are his brother, James Scott; four children and their spouses, Bianca (Keith) Boyer, Loye Pourner Jr, John Pourner II and Cecil (Sharon) Pourner, 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Gloria Pourner (Brady); parents, John Pourner and Reathal Scott; brothers, Tony, Melvin, Kenny, and William Scott; sister, Betty Mersman (Scott); sons, Robert Pourner and Harold Pourner; daughters, Margaret Silva (Pourner) and JoAnn Pourne; and great-grandson, Edward Pourner.
The family will host a memorial service, in honor of Loye, on Saturday, Dec. 12. Visitation begins at 3 p.m. for family and friends. Memorial service starts at 5 p.m. Pastor Bob Courson will be officiating.

Daniel Bunch, 67, of Bedford, died at 6:55 a.m. on Wednesday at Indiana University Hospice House, Bloomington.
Born Sept. 29, 1948, in Bedford, he was the son of Thomas Howard and Patricia Isabelle (Dalton) Bunch.
He married Janice Nickless on Oct. 24, 2003, in West Virginia, and she survives.
He was a graduate of Bedford High School with the Class of 1966 and had worked at both Otis Elevator, Bloomington and Stone City Products, Bedford, as a CMM operator, retired. He was a member of the Protestant Faith.
Surviving are his wife, Janice Bunch of Bedford; two sons, Steven (Kristie) Bunch and Nathan Bunch, both of Bedford; two stepdaughters, Melanie (Charles) Meadows, Mitchell, and Crystal (Tommy) Lowden, Springville; one stepson, Jason (Stephanie) McCameron, Mitchell; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia (Ronald) Bell and Kathy Owens, Bedford; one brother, William (Deloris) Bunch, Williams; and two nieces and six nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Lisa Ann Bunch.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bedford Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1700 N. Pike Road, Bedford.

Dianna was a member of the Eagles. She was of the Christian faith.

Carolyn Ann (Easton) Henderson, 75, formerly of Columbus, and Bedford, peacefully completed her journey to heaven at 9:16 p.m. on Nov. 21 in Spring Hill, Tenn.
She was the daughter of Gaylous and Winnie Easton of Bedford. She married Philip Henderson of Mitchell on Sept. 25, 1965, and they were blessed to celebrate their 50th anniversary this year.
She was a graduate with the Class of 1958 of Shawswick High School. She enjoyed being a homemaker, spending time with family, flower gardening, photography and serving with her church family at White Creek United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by parents, Gaylous and Winnie Easton; brother, Russell Easton; sisters, Mildred Ball and Phyllis Miller, all of Bedford.
She is survived by beloved husband, Philip Henderson of Spring Hill, Tenn.; son, Jerry Henderson; daughter-in-law, Christine Henderson; grandchildren, Sarah and Wyatt Henderson, all of Denver, Colo.; daughter, Jeanette Hunt and grandchildren, Anna and Aaron Hunt, all of Spring Hill, Tenn.; brother, Warren Easton of Springville; and other loving family members.

Born Feb. 13, 1986, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Carl and Tammy (Knight) Farley. She married Nathan Robert Harrison July 15, 2005.
Jennifer had been employed as a leasing manager, pharmacy technician at Walgreens, and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Bride of Christ Fellowship, and graduated from Mitchell High School in 2004. She loved her family and enjoyed art, crafts, and camping.

David G. Watts, 91, of Bedford, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at Stone Bridge Health Campus, Bedford.
Born July 4, 1924, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Franklin F. and Minnie A. (Fairhurst) Watts.
He married Anna L. Mills on Feb. 8, 1947; she preceded him in death on Jan.14, 2007.
David retired from GM Powertrain. He was a member of UAW Local 440 and a Life Member of DAV, Gillen Post #33. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II.
Surviving are one son, Michael (Renita) Watts, O.D., of Bedford, Ind.; two granddaughters, Angela (Mark) Chastain and Kirstie Garrison; five great-grandchildren, Hank, Lola, Luke, Macy and Maddox.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna; one brother, John in infancy; one sister, Mary K. Robbins; and one half-brother, Charles Earlywine.
Funeral service will be on Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Gillen Post #33.

Margaret A. Flynn, 95, of Oolitic, died at 7:25 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at her residence.
Born March 14, 1920, in Burnside, Ky., she was the daughter of LeeAnder and Beulah (Bennett) Hollars. She married Fred R. Flynn, Sr. on Dec. 9, 1938, and he preceded her in death. She retired as an inspector for RCA in Bloomington and was a member of I.B.E.W. for 30 years. She was a member of the Oolitic Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara J. Lake, of Oolitic; two sons, Phil Flynn and wife, Darcy of Harrodsburg, and Russ Flynn and wife, Jennie of Bedford; 12 grandchildren, Lisha, Kelly, Michele, Mindi, Zachary, Seth, Brittney, Mary Jo, Peggy, Bobby, Penny and Faron; 17 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lena Covey of Kokomo; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a grandson, Philip Shayne; four brothers, Ed, Andy, Otis and Orville (Doc) Hollars, and a sister, Elizabeth New.

James Eric Bennett, 65, of Bedford, died at 3:35 a.m. on Wednesday at White River Lodge in Bedford.
Born Jan. 5, 1950, in Bedford, he was the son of Harold and Virginia Rose (Faris) Bennett. He married Claudia Stipp on June 22, 1973, and she survives. He was an engineer/manager in the night vision and bio chemical warfare department at NWSC Crane. He was a member of the Tunnelton United Methodist Church, N.R.A., and was a bronze master gardener with the Land of Limestone Master Gardeners.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia, of Bedford; two sons, Thomas Bennett and Eric Bennett and wife, Robin Kelso Bennett, all of Bedford; two grandchildren, Madelyne and Carter Bennett; a brother, Jo Bennett of Seymour. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Joan Kay (Sullivan) Bergman, 68, of Palomar Mountain, Calif., and Scottsburg, Ind. passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, Calif., due to respiratory failure while recovering from pneumonia.
Born March 2, 1947, to Bud and Agnes Elizabeth Terrell, she was adopted and raised by Oscar and Esther Sullivan. Joan graduated from Washington High School in Indianapolis, Ind. in June of 1964. She ran a successful upholstery business for many years in Paragon, Ind.
After raising her children, Joan traveled to California where she met and married Carl. She and Carl traveled throughout the lower United States, Alaska, Canada and Britain. By maintaining homes in Scottsburg, Ind. and at the family cattle ranch on Palomar Mountain, Calif., she was able to devote herself to both her Midwest and West-coast families. Joan loved travel, photography, gardening, genealogical research and music. But most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Joan is survived by her husband, Carl Bergman; children, Cary Spear, Guy Lankford, Jr. and Jason Lankford (wife Nesha); grandchildren, Guy Lankford III, and Emily Lankford; sister Jessie Garrett (husband Burl); brothers, James Terrell (wife Betty Ruth) and Robert Thicksten (wife Debbie); as well as stepchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Esther Sullivan; her birth parents, Bud Terrell and Agnes Elizabeth Terrell-Thicksten; brothers, John Terrell and Donald Terrell.

Susan L. (Blakey) Pruett, 51, of Heltonville, died on Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford, following a yearlong battle with cancer.
Born Oct. 10, 1964, in Bedford, Ind., she was the daughter of Don and Amy (Lynn) Blakey.
Susan was previously married to Jeffrey Pruett, the father of her boys.
She was a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School. Susan was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school.
Surviving are her parents, Don and Amy Blakey of Bedford; two sons, Tracey (T.J.) Pruett and Tanner (fiancée April) Pruett, both of Heltonville; granddaughter, Braelynn; brother, Donald (Becky) Blakey of Bedford; several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Thelma Lynn and Carlos and Mary Blakey; sister, Tracy Jo and a nephew, Evan Blakey.

Walter H. Wilson, 94, of Bedford, formerly of Naples, Fla., died at 11:24 a.m. on Tuesday at Bliss Place in Bedford.
Born July 28, 1921, in Anderson, he was the son of Chester Wilson and Ethel (Grant) Wilson. He married Marjorie Cue on Nov. 27, 1943, and she survives. He was a mechanical engineer for Delco in Kokomo. He was a member of the Anderson Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, of Bedford; two sons, Richard Wilson and wife, Mary Ann, of Kokomo; Randall Wilson and wife, Tami, of Bedford; five grandchildren, Tyler, Tara, Jay, Brooke and Megan Wilson.

Charles M. Parton, Jr., 92, of Springville, died at 9:18 a.m. on Monday at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital.
Born April 18, 1923, in Terre Haute, IN, he was the son of Charles M. Parton, Sr. and Goldie A. (Carey) Parton. He married Esther Eileen Nail on Sept. 3, 1941, and she preceded him in death on July 10, 2012. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as a union member brick layer and a farmer. He began raising and showing quarter horses in 1955. He was active in 4-H in Lawrence, Monroe and Greene Counties, where he supported the 4-H Horse and Pony Clubs at the Bar-P Ranch. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing country music.
Survivors include a daughter, Wilma Marple and husband, Rodney, of Springville; a son, Michael Parton, of Springville; grandchildren, Brooke Parton, James Marple, David Marple and Alan Parton; great-grandchildren, Lane Parton, Chrissy Robinson and Ashley Gagle. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, Mary Ann Denlinger and Betty England and a brother, Thomas Parton.

Burl Woodward, 88, of Bedford, passed away on Monday at the Indiana University Health Hospice House, Bloomington.
Born May 11, 1927, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Alex and Bertha (Harmon) Woodward. He married Lena Ross on April 21, 1943, and she survives. He was a retired employee of the City of Bedford. Burl served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the American Legion Gillen Post No. 33. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Burl was also a 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his wife, Lena; sons, John Woodward and wife Libby, of Virginia, and David Woodward and wife Jane, of Bedford; daughter-in-law, Susie Woodward, of Bedford; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Thomas Woodward; three brothers, Jesse Woodward, Paul Woodward and Ronald Woodward; and two sisters, Ruby Pritchett and Catherine Inman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with Father Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Emily J. “Susie” Wood, 75, of Battle Ground, passed away on Monday at her residence.
Born May 15, 1940, in Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Emma (Homan) Kibler. She graduated from Bedford High School and attended college in Gulf Port, MS.
Emily was an office manager for Northwestern Mutual Life, retiring after 21 years. She enjoyed knitting and crafting. Emily started bowling at the age of 2. She bowled for Bright House Transfer of Indianapolis for 25 years and won 6 state championships. Her great passion in life was rescuing animals.
She is survived by two daughters, Lisa A. Kincaid (life partner Dona K. Benham) of Battle Ground, and Kelly M. Wilson; son-in-law, Shawn Wilson of Tamp, FL; daughter-in-law, Minta Albietz of Blue Diamond, NV; five grandchildren, Zach Williams, Sarah Albietz, Austin Albietz, Luke Kincaid and Jada Wilson; one great-grandchild; and several loved nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death with her parents are her son, Don L. Albietz, and two sisters, Patricia Lee and Freddie Frank.
