December 31, 2013 Annetta Louise Holmes Aug. 13, 1940 — Dec. 29, 2013

Annetta Louise Holmes, 73, of Bedford, died at 1:32 a.m. on Sunday at The Waters of Martinsville.

Born on Aug. 13, 1940, in Greene County, she was the daughter of George Ray and Eliza Ola (Patton) Shelton. She married Donald Holmes and he preceded her in death on June 29, 1979.

 Annetta retired from GE in Bloomington.

Survivors include one son, David Holmes of Bloomfield; two sisters, Phyllis Tucker of Martinsville and Treva McGuire of Solsberry; and two brothers, George Shelton of Martinsville and Dewey Shelton of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son, Jeffery Donald Holmes; two sisters, Faye Arthur and Ann Wilson; and four brothers, Hubert, Wayne, Gerald and Lloyd Shelton.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Leonard Sankey and Pastor Steven Hight officiating. Burial will follow in Lowder Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the mortuary.

Violet E. Bacon

Dec. 2, 1928 — Dec. 29, 2013

Violet Eileen Bacon, 85, of Bedford, died at 12:53 p.m. on Sunday at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.

Born Dec. 2, 1928, in Saskatchewan, Canada, she was the daughter of Cecil and Lillian Ruth (Chase) Ihrke. She married Jimmy Leon Bacon in 1947 at Angola, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1985.

She was a retired manager for Taylor Drugstore, Bedford and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Calvary Chapel Church, Bedford and also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Gillen Post No. 33, Bedford.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald (Darlene) Bacon of Mitchell and Terry L. Bacon of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews, including Danielle Hascell of Bedford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one sister, Verva Hascell.

Private family burial services were held today at Fairview Cemetery, Bedford.

Wimpy “Huey” O’Steen

July 18, 1953 — Dec. 29, 2013

Our dad was healed today. In Jesus’ arms he will stay.

Wimpy “Huey” O’Steen, 60, of Williams, died at 7:40 p.m. Sunday at his residence.

Born July 18, 1953, in Gainesville, Fla., he was the son of Lester and Geneva (Dyle) O’Steen. He married Rebekah Terry on May 20, 1978; and she survives.

He was a former truck driver for Shelby Trucking, was an ordained minister and was the former pastor at Soul’s Haven Church.

He was an accomplished musician. He played steel guitar and several other instruments. He sang and wrote his own songs. He built and repaired steel guitars and taught many how to play the steel guitar. He enjoyed wood working and made many beautiful things.

 He was a graduate of Cross City High School, Cross City, Fla.

Surviving are his wife, Rebekah O’Steen of Williams; one son, Arnold O’Steen of Williams; three daughters, Deborah (Steven) May of Bradyville, Tenn., Crystal (Layne) Lackey of Springville, and Bridgett (Paul) Owens of Bedford; five grandchildren, Chadrick May, Samuel Lackey, Cheylayna Lackey, Kadesia Owens, and Javan Owens; two sisters, Laverne Hay and Sheila O’Steen-Jones, both of Florida; one brother, Pat Chewning, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Work of God Church in Mitchell,  with Pastor Dwight Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Port William Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home.

James E. Jackson

June 23, 1932 — Dec. 27, 2013

James Edward Jackson, 81, Heltonville, died Friday at Bloomington Hospital.

He worked at General Motors for 32 years and for five years at Trico in Brownsville, Texas.

He was a lifelong member of Heltonville Christian Church, where he served as deacon and elder; the Masonic Lodge; and UAW Local No. 440.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Claudette Wiley Jackson, whom he married on June 30, 1951; four daughters, Dana Jolene Bailey (Duane), Jamie Lynn Jones (Danny), Shawn Elaine Smith (Teddy) and Stacie Le Grant (Adam); nine grandchildren, Wiley, Nathan, Shane, Lindsee, Tyler, Taylor, Roy, Spencer and Paige; seven great-grandchildren, Averie, Kennedy, Jackson, Noah, Jonah, Zander and Tinsley; and siblings, Maxine Smith and Steve Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bud, Joe Richard and Bob Jackson; one sister, Susie Craig; and one great-granddaughter, Zoey Alyzabeth Martinez.

We would like to share our loving feelings and remembrances of our Husband and Dad with family and friends at a memorial service to be held at a later date.

Winford D. Dixon

April 13, 1919 — Dec. 28, 2013 Winford Doyle Dixon, 94, Fort Ritner, died at 5:05 p.m. on Saturday at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. John E. Eisele

John Edward Eisele, 66, Haddock, Ga., a Mitchell native and formerly of Bedford, died Friday. Funeral service was Monday at the Bridges Funeral Home and Crematory in Gray, Ga. December 30, 2013 James E. Quinn Nov. 25, 1927 — Dec. 28, 2013

James E. Quinn, 86 of Bedford, died at 3:05 a.m. on Saturday at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

Born Nov. 25, 1927, in Martin County, he was the son of Elmer and Velma (Wininger) Quinn. James married June Mills on Oct. 8, 1949, and she survives.

 He was an inspector for the Conrail Railroad in Avon.

James was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War and was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Plainfield.

Survivors include his wife June of Bedford; two daughters, Sherry Denbo of Mooresville and Debbie Mason and husband Kevin of Bedford; five grandchildren, Quinn Mason, Kristen Johnston and husband James, Annie Jones and husband Dan, Brad Mason and Sean Denbo and wife Estee; one great-granddaughter, Masie Johnston; and one sister, Ruth Street of French Lick.

Funeral service will be  at 7 p.m. today in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. A private burial will be Tuesday at Green Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the service on Monday at the mortuary.

Gladys A. Toliver

Gladys Austin Toliver, 97 of Orleans, passed away at 12:25 p.m. on Sunday at White River Lodge in Bedford.

She was born in Marengo on Aug. 15, 1916,  the third daughter of Noah Arthur and Cora Jane (Goodson) Austin.

She was an active member of The First Baptist Church in Orleans since 1958. She was baptized at the age of 14 in a small creek near English.

She is survived by one son, Alan (Nancy) Toliver of Hopkinsville, Ky.; two daughters, Wanda (Connie) Minton of Orleans and Lynn (Robert) Longest of Paoli; nine grandchildren; 18  great-grandchildren; eight-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Delco and Mary Walls; four half sisters; and one half brother.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday  at The First Baptist Church in Orleans with the  Rev. Mike Williams and the Rev. Paul Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Orleans.

Friends are invited to visitation at the church from 4-8 p.m. today  and from 10 a.m. until the service  on Tuesday.

Evelyn Irene Watterson, 84, of Mitchell, formally of Orleans, passed away at 5:36 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013, at IU Health-Bedford, in Bedford, Indiana.

She was born June 24, 1929, in Orangeville, Indiana, the daughter of Clyde and Bertha (Thacker) Stalker. She married Donald Watterson on December 3, 1948, and he preceded her in death on June 26, 1988.

She worked at RCA, Paoli Chair, and Mi-lan Wood Products.

She is survived by one daughter, Leslie Kidd of Mitchell, Indiana; six grandchildren, Joseph Roop, Joshua Roop, Samantha Olsen, Miranda Case, Kyle Kidd, and Sierra Gilbert; and nine great-grandchildren, Joey, Ben, Gregory, Lukas, Estin, DJ, Aksel, Gavin, and Keenan.

She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter Belinda.

A celebration of life service will be conducted on Sunday, December 29, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at Graceful Gospel Church with Rev. Brent O’Neal officiating. Cremation was chosen. Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home is in charge of these arrangements.

Lebert L. May, 78 of Fayetteville, died at 2:43 p.m. on Thursday at his residence.

Born June 3, 1935, in Bedford, he was the son of Roy Delbert and Maude Elizabeth (Wright) May. He married Mary Lou Foster and she preceded him in death on Aug. 28, 2008.

He was a delivery driver/route salesman for Coca Cola and 7-Up Bottling and a member of the First Assembly of God.

He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include a son, Dexter “Butch” May of Bedford; two daughters, Sherlyn “Sherry” Brown and husband Mike of Mitchell, and Penny Godsey of Bedford; grandchildren, Rebecca Gulley, Josiah, Caleb, Jadon, Adam and Ashlyn Godsey, Ethan, Ezra and Elijah Sullivan, Emmy Sparks and Sammantha Davis; several great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Marvel May of Chapel Hill and Darrell May of Bedford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a daughter, Mellisa Sullivan; a sister, Juanita Jaynes; and two brothers, Cleadous and Gleason May.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at the First Assembly of God with Pastors Glenn Duncan and Steve Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Fayetteville Community Cemetery.

Betty M. Sellers, 74 of Mitchell, passed away at her residence on Dec. 21.

She was born in Blackwater, Va., on May 28, 1939, to Emmett L. and Inez Opal (Johnson) Collingsworth. She married Thomas Noah Sellers on Aug. 5, 1958, and he survives.

She was of Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Sellers of Mitchell; one son, Tony Sellers and wife Teresa of Washington; four grandchildren; five brothers, James Collingsworth of Bedford, Charles Collingsworth of Salem, Kee Collingsworth of Mitchell, Rev. Gerald Collingsworth and wife Vida of Ohio, and David G. Collingsworth of Marion; and five sisters, Ruby Sage of Paoli, Bobbie Buechler and husband Maurice of Mitchell, Georgia Flick and fiancé Dennis of West Baden Springs, Jurline Tuell and husband Ron of Florida, and Mary Kinder and husband Dwight of Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Don Collingsworth and SP4 Delmo Collingsworth who died May 30, 1966, while serving in the Vietnam War

Private services were held on Friday at Cresthaven Funeral Home after her cremation.

James Robert Chapman, infant son of James Robert-Nelson and Crystal Renee (Terrell) Chapman was stillborn at 12:51 p.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.

Surviving are his parents, James and Crystal Chapman of Mitchell; siblings, Olivia Chapman, Aubrey Martin and Nevaeh Chapman; grandparents, Robert and Cindy Chapman of Mitchell, Edna Shelby of Orleans, Lisa Case of Mitchell, and William Shoopman of Mitchell; great-grandmother, Linda Terrell of Mitchell; and uncles, Derek Barkley, Jacob Barkley, Nick Case and Lucas Case.

Gerald Jones, 64 of Heltonville, died Thursday at Richland Bean Blossom Health Care Center in Ellettsville.

He was born Nov. 19,1949, in Bedford, to Cecil and Elsie (Harrell) Jones.

Gerald graduated from Heltonvile High School, worked for Extuded Alloys, Northern Propane and Indiana Limestone Company.

He was a member of Mundell Christian Church, NRA, American Quarterhorse Association and International Brotherhood of Carpenters and Millworkers of America Local No. 8093.

He enjoyed coon hunting, horseback riding and farming.

Surviving are his sisters, Carolyn Jarvis of Bedford and Cynthia Denniston of Norman; nieces, Grace (Tyson) George and April Basinger; nephews, Todd Denniston and Reid (Jody) Denniston; three great-nieces; and friend, Evelyn Mundy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cecilia “Susie” Basinger; and infant brother, Gregory Allen Jones. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the service  at 2 p.m. on Monday at Jones Funeral Home in Heltonville. Bro. Jim Fisher will officiate. Burial will follow at Mundell Cemetery.

Carol Ann Brewer, 61, of Columbus, died at 12:05 p.m. on Monday at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

She was born in Mitchell on Dec. 19, 1952, the daughter of Rayburn and Hazel Stevens Wedgewood.

Carol was employed at The Cork Liquors for 18 years as a Bookkeeper.

Survivors include her children, Paul Brewer of Los Angeles, Calif., Melissa (Dave) Boyer of Columbus and Julie (Matt) Geilker of Columbus; brothers, Mike (Linda) Wedgewood of Tennessee, and Gary “Butch” (Ricki) Wedgewood of Princeton; a sister, Bonnie (Steve) Mentzer of Columbus, Ohio; and grandchildren, Andrew, Tyler and William Boyer and Taylor and Braeden Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Don Wedgewood.

Teresa D. Rigsby

Aug. 28, 1961 — Dec. 24, 2013

Teresa Dawn (Stancombe) Rigsby, passed away at 6:09 a.m. on Tuesday at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. She was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in February 2011 and fought a great battle.

She was born Aug. 28, 1961, at Dunn Memorial Hospital to Ethel Stancombe. She married Regan Rigsby on Sept. 3, 2003, and he survives.

She worked at Aisin USA Manufacturing in Seymour from 2004 until this year. She worked at Boston Scientific in Spencer for many years prior to that.

She is also survived by her daughter, Chasity (Jamie) Staley of Seymour; her sister, Beverly (Mike) Young of St. Anthony; nieces, Tina (Kevin) Hobson, Keona Stickney, Courtni Hobson and Chancla Hobson; her nephew, Seth Hobson, all of Salem; her stepgrandchildren, Chelsea Lewis and Alex Staley, both of Berea Ohio; stepdaughter, Haley Rigsby of Louisville, Ky.; brother-in-law, Richard (Susan) Rigsby; sister-in-law, Debbie McCullough; mother-in-law, Glenna Rigsby; Buddy, Barney and Yoda, her Boston Terrier Fur Babies.

She was preceded in death by her mother (2010); her nephew Matthew Young (2005; her father-in-law, Ray Rigsby (1991); grandparents Clyde and Nettie Stancombe; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral service will be at 6 p.m. today at Voss Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. Bud Smith officiating.

Wayne A Kern, born Arthur Wayne Kern, in 1919 in Plattsburg, N.Y. to Louis Raymond Kern and Amanda Lillian Beaudete, passed away on Sunday.

He married Reva Jane Cannedy on Sept. 21, 1940, and she preceded him in death on March 11, 2013.

He was a postmaster at the Bedford Post Office and a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army.

He had served as the chairman for the Lawrence County Democratic Party and was named Sagamore of the Wabash in 1968 by then governor, Roger Branigan. He was a member of the Gillen Post No. 33 American Legion.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna Lou Tlustek (Hein) of Bedford, Diana Lyn Armstrong (Larry) of Lebanon and Cathy Ann Hackney (Ken) of Bedford; nine grandchildren, Kaya Pace (Robert), Ilana Tlustek, Hein K Tlustek (Stephanie), Marthea Jackson (Jeff), Alida Bingham (Aaron), Terry Tlustek (Bethany), Tamatha Bailey (Tracy), Kristina Matlock, JoAnna Cobb (Ed); 26 great grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Esther Carlton Kern; a brother, Thomas Raymond Kern; sisters, Thelma Marie Parks, Lois Loraine Webster and Nina Arbuckle; a son-in-law, Ron Smith; and a great-granddaughter, Anna Tlustek.

Private services are planned. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery with military rites accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post No.33 American Legion and D.A.V. Chapter 2.

Linda Jill Lee, 59 of Bedford, died at 6:59 a.m. on Monday at her residence.

Born Aug. 11, 1954, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Gordon and Leoma (Williams) Shook. She married Curt Lee on Dec. 16, 1973 and he survives.

She was a claims taker at Work One in Bedford and volunteered with Ducks Unlimited.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Bedford.

She enjoyed traveling, shopping and being Grammy.

Survivors include four daughters, Danie Norris and husband Mark of Bloomington, Tiffany Moody and husband Matt of Carmel, Kasey Franklin and husband Doug of Indianapolis, and Chelsea Lee and companion Steve Cassidy of Bedford; grandchildren, Caleb, Haley, Jetta, Maya and Pacer Norris, and Maddox and Harper Franklin; a sister, Lee Ann Mitchell and husband Rick of Mitchell; aunt, Annah Hall of Bedford; uncle, Don Williams of Cloverdale; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Nora Nicole Moody (in infancy); and an uncle, Dean Williams.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the First Christian Church in Bedford with Pastor Allen Cloar officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

John D. White

July 14, 1940 — Dec. 24, 2013

John David “Whitey” White, 73 of Mitchell, passed away on Tuesday at 9:25 a.m. at the Indiana University Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

He was born in Lawrence County on July 14, 1940, to Paul and Mary (Glover) White. He was a graduate of Bedford High School.

He was retired from GM Powertrain in Bedford after 42 years of service. He was a US Army veteran

He was a member of the Bedford Eagles No. 654, Mitchell V.F.W., Mitchell American Legion Post No. 250, and Bedford Moose Lodge.

He loved to shoot pool enjoying it with his friends, and best friends were Lee and Lisa Booker.

Survivors include one daughter; Paula (White) Ely and husband Timothy of Mitchell; one brother, Harold Dean White and wife Twila of Oolitic; his daughter’s mother and caring friends, Cora (Charlie) Elkins of Bedford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Evelyn.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday at Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford, with military honors by the Mitchell American Legion Post No. 250.

Nancy L. Shirley

Dec. 4, 1935 — Dec. 18, 2013

Nancy L. Shirley, 78 of Bedford, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 18 at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Nancy was born on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 1935, to the late Clyde A. and Madeline (Wheeler) Shirley.

She taught fourth grade for over 30 years retiring from Maplewood School in Indianapolis.

Della Mae Mitchell, 87 of Bedford, passed away at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Indiana University Health Hospice House in Bloomington.

She was born Jan. 8, 1926, in Lawrence County, the daughter of Henry Fields and Alma B. (Root) Fields. She married John V. Mitchell on Sept. 2, 1955, and he preceded her in death in November of 1980.

She was a graduate of Shawswick High School. She was a homemaker and had worked at Bedford National Bank.

She was a member of Mount Pleasant Christian Church. She enjoyed golfing and church group. She was a card club member and participated in a bowling league.

Surviving are two sons, John Mitchell and David (Melissa) Mitchell of Bedford; one daughter, Tricia (Stan) Spoonmore of Springville; one brother, Bill Fields of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Kyla Fish, Kelli Michael, and Samantha and Garrison Mitchell; four great-grandchildren, Chad and Gracie Michael, and Mason and Brady Fish; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Russell “Bud” Fields; and one sister, Ethela “Snooks” Mathews.

Born Oct. 25, 1959, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Joe Flynn and Martha (Green) Collins.

She was employed at C&M Conveyer and was a graduate of Oakland City College. Debra was a member of Oakland City College Alumni, United Steel Workers 7-30, and former member of ABATE.

Surviving are daughters, Rachel (Andrew) Davis of Orleans, Robin (Joe) Higgs of Mitchell, and Crystal (Blaine Longest) Goldsberry of Orleans; dogs, Roxanne and Ridge; mother, Martha Collin of Mitchell; companion, Jeff Perkins of Orleans; grandchildren, Nicole Goldsberry, Jorja Davis, Seth Goldsberry, Devin Goldsberry, Alyssa Smith, Lonzo Smith III, Emma Higgs and Gracie Higgs; brothers, Ronnie (Brenda) Flynn, Steve (Vivian) Flynn, and Brad (Kim) Flynn, all of Mitchell;several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.

Ronald L. “Ron” Royer, 67 of Ellettsville, passed away Sunday at Indiana University Health Hospice House.

Born, June 26, 1946, in Bloomington, he was the son of Glenn and Alma “Jean” (Jones) Royer.

Ron retired as a supervisor from Vectren Corporation after 39 years of service.

He was a United States Marine Corp. veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0285 in Spencer.

Ron was a loving father, grandfather, son and brother who enjoyed hiking and photography.

Survivors include his daughter, Rhonda Kraese and  husband Todd of Bedford; his mother, Alma “Jean” Royer of Ellettsville; three grandsons, Brandon, Nathan and Cameron Kraese of Bedford; one sister, Glenda Griffith and husband Gary of Ellettsville; one brother, Steve Royer and  wife Judy of Bloomington; four aunts, Ruby Pope and Marie Nethery, both of Bloomington, Jean Bird and husband Donald of French Lick, and Myrtle Parrott of San Diego, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Royer (2000).

Bill was a meat-cutter for Marsh Supermarkets and retired from Westinghouse as a lathe operator.

He was a member and an Elder at the Blackwell Pentecostal Church.

Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed being with his family.

Edwards (Bill) of West Baden, 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Stanley Kelley of Springville and Jack Kelley (Rene) of Mitchell; four sisters, Joan Wubben (Bob) of Springville, Norma Mikels, Beverly Fletcher (Larry) and Rebeka Goss all of Springfield, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty J. Baker, 89, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

She was born May 20, 1924, in Bedford to John A. and Mary E. (Toon) Johnson. Betty married the Rev. Robert E. Baker on Aug. 18, 1946, in Bedford and he survives.

Betty was a member of the First Church of God in Bedford, where she served as the organist for 17 years, she was part of the Ministry with her husband the Rev. Robert Baker for 60 years, they ministered at First Church of God in Ashtabula, Ohio, and First Church of God in Welland, Ontario, Canada, they also evangelized and spread Christianity all over the United States.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Robert E. Baker of Bedford; one son, Mark J. Baker of Bedford; one daughter, Candace Sue Baker-Korver and husband Todd of Geneva, Ohio; two grandchildren, Christopher Baker of Bloomington and Sherry Baker of Bloomington; and one sister, Ritta Brock of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Louie Johnson.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the First Church of God in Bedford at 3131 W. 16th St., with Bro. Mark Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

Allan Dirrelle Hackney, 44 of Mitchell, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at his residence.

Born May 21, 1969, in Orange County, he is the son of Fredric D. and Linda Ruth (Tincher) Hackney.

He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1987.

Allan had been employed at Mitchell Motor Sales, Bedford Regional Medical Center, and was a DJ at WBIW Radio.

He enjoyed the Brain Games, Facebook, his music, talking with friends, and “Who Wants to be a Millionaire.”

Surviving are his mother, Linda Hackney of Mitchell; and a brother, Brian Hackney of Orleans.

His father and sister, Amanda Hackney, preceded him in death.

John E. Hendricks

John Elijah Hendricks, 95, of Bedford, passed away on Saturday at Indiana University Health in Bedford.

He was born July 18, 1918, in Mitchell to Elijah and Nellie (Burton) Hendricks. He was married to the late Mary Lou (Lively) Hendricks.

He was an Army Veteran of World War II and retired from Crane in 1975.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce of Jeffersonville; a son, Buddy of Mitchell, two stepsons, Doug of Puyallup, Wash., and Phil of Oak Harbor, Wash., and 13 grandchildren.

Mr. Hendricks was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Walter; sister, Evelyn; and granddaughter, Kathy.

John drove avidly right up to his death traveling from Indiana to Washington state at least once a year by himself, and had driven in every state except Alaska. He also loved photography and shot stills and videos of many people and things.

In his job, he was a math expert.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Cresthaven Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens, with military honors given by the Mitchell American Legion Post No. 250.

Joan (Hedley) Link, 81, of Bedford and formerly of Terre Haute and Columbus, died at 1:14 p.m. on Monday at StoneBridge Health Campus.

Born June 11, 1932, in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of Harry and Helen (Baker) Hedley. She married Fred W. Link on Jan. 26, 1952, and he survives. Joan was a librarian at Columbus East High School and a long distance telephone operator.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God.

Survivors include her husband, Fred of Bedford; a daughter, Lana LaGrange and husband John of Bedford; a son, Bruce Link of Crossville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Michael LaGrange, Stephanie Link, Heather Motley and Brian LaGrange; a sister, Martha Shaw of Dawsonville, Ga.; two great-grandchildren, Adelyn LaGrange and Landon Motley; and several nieces and nephews.

Ernest W. “Ernie” Cassida, 68, formerly of Bedford, passed away at 10 p.m. on Sunday at Paoli Health and Living Community Center.

Born March 5, 1945, in Monroe County, he was the son of Ernest and Louise (Thatcher) Cassida. He married Wilma Sons on Nov. 20, 1964; and she preceded him in death on Sept. 20, 2002.

He was a graduate of Bedford High School, Class of 1963.

He retired from W.F. Myers Inc., where he worked as a machinist. He also worked at Coca-Cola Bottling Co., in Bedford.

He was a member of Mount Pleasant Christian Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathy (Randy) Burks of Fountain Inn, S.C., and Kim (Jon) Collins of Pearlington, Miss.; five grandchildren, Jessica and Latisha Burks of Fountain Inn, S.C., and Isaac, Josiah, and Emily Collins of Pearlington, Miss.; and two sisters, Jane Carter Hardwick of Oviedo, Fla., and Donna Cassida of Springville.

Betty J. Butler, 85, of Bedford died at 1:40 p.m. on Monday at the home of her son.

Born Nov. 15, 1928, in Bedford, she was the daughter of James and Drusella (DeTinne) VanWinkle. She married Harold A. Butler on Aug. 1, 1947, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 2005.

She retired as an electrical and visual inspector for General Electric in Bloomington in 1990.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Bedford.

Reva was a life-long beautician and had also been employed at Dana Corporation.

She was very family oriented and was an unique individual.

Elona Barnes, 82, Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown, formerly of Medora, died Saturday at Hoosier Christian Village.

She was born Dec. 8, 1931, in Kurtz, the daughter of Cella Young and Odessa Miller Young, who preceded her in death. She married Melvin A. Barnes on July 31, 1948, and he survives.

She attended Clearspring school, House of James Beauty College and cosmetology school. She worked as a hair stylist for 15 years and she and her husband were owners of Mel’s Package Store in Medora for 22 years.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Medora.

She served as secretary of the Medora Conservation Club and on the election board as an inspector for Carr Township.

She was an avid bowler, being on leagues in Jackson and Lawrence counties. She helped organize the Medora Christmas Parade.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and mother-in-law.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin of Brownstown; one son, Melvin Jr. (Sherry) Barnes of Bedford; one daughter, Karen (Paul) Henderson of Norman; one daughter-in-law, Goldie Barnes of Medora; eight grandchildren, Angel (Tim) Sorrells, Shawn Dixon, Joe (Stephanie) Barnes, Leslie Dillman, Amber Henley, Travis Barnes, Tracy (John) Ernstes and Todd (Melissa) Barnes; 19 great-grandchildren, Katie Hoffman, Gracie Sorrells, Kenneth Dixon, Kennedy Dixon, Emily Barnes, Joseph Barnes, Trisha Henley, Jesse Dillman, Nick Persinger, Brookln Henley, Jake Henley, Nicholas Barnes, Gage Barnes, Tia Barnes, Kendra Ernstes, Jacob Ernstes, Taylor McFarland, Amber Barnes and Josh Barnes; two great-great-grandchildren, Aubree Barnes and Andrew Barnes; one brother, Robert Young of Norman; one sister, Beatrice Hunter of Heltonville; and many nieces and nephews.

Marvin H. Manion, 85, of Oolitic, went to be with the Lord at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday at his residence.

Born Aug. 18, 1928, in Lawrence County he was the son of Roy Evert Manion and Gladys Omea (Vaughn) Manion. He married C. Jeanie Bailey on July 7, 1961, and she survives.

Marvin owned and operated several service stations including the Phillips 66 Station in Oolitic, and the Marathons at the Intersection of 37/50 and 16th Street. He later owned the Manion’s Hardware Store in Oolitic before retiring.

He was a member of the First Free Methodist Church and the Patriot Lodge No. 750 F&AM of Oolitic. He enjoyed fishing, hunting  and gardening. He was well known in the family for his fabulous blackberries.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanie of Oolitic; one brother, Kenneth L. and wife Bobbie Ann of Oolitic, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Morris Manion; and one sister, Louise Smith.

Surviving are one sister, Patricia Jackson of Claymont, Del.; one half sister, Janet (Malcolm) Middleton of Huron; one half brother, John Gyger of Huron; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Harry served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Iran-Iraq Conflict. He had worked at C & M Conveyor in Mitchell. Harry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed playing with his dogs.

Casilda Arthur

Casilda “Cass” Arthur, 77, originally of Bedford, Indiana, passed away Dec. 11, 2013, at her home in Ocoee, FL.

Cass was born in Delta, Kentucky to the late Charles Esker and Lara Denny. Cass retired from General Electric after 25 years of service. She was married to her late husband, Dean, for 49 years. Cass spent most of her life in Indiana with her family. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, traveling and caring for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Cass was preceded in her passing by her husband, Dean Arthur; and three sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Randell “Randy” Arthur and Miles “Dana” Arthur; brothers Mitt Denny, Mike Denny, and Bryan Denny; sisters Harriett Cummings and Twyleah Mitcham; grandchildren Maggie, Nick, Brady, Mavis, Jason, Clayton and Erick; and great-grandchildren Olivia, Katelyn, and Kaden.

She served as the secretary-treasurer for the Huron PTO for several years and was a member of the Fairview Church of Christ.

Curtis Eugene Chastain, 83, of Bedford passed away on Monday.

Born Aug. 9, 1930, he was the son of Howard and Alma (Yaney) Chastain.

Out of high school he enlisted in the United States Army in 1948. He was stationed at Fort Sill, Okla. He started his career at General Motors in Bedford, where he retired in 1979. He was a member of UAW Local 440. He attended Davis Memorial Church of the Nazarene.

Curtis and his beloved wife Gladys (Browning) Chastain of 58 years enjoyed traveling and spending the winter in Florida. Curtis took great pride in his family.

He is survived by his wife; one sister Almeta Walker; two sons, Steven M. Chastain, and Jeffrey C. Chastain and wife Taryn; two daughters, Debra L. Chestnut, and Amy D. Sowders and husband William; grandchildren, Amber N. (Chestnut) Brock and husband J.D., Ashley B. (Chestnut) Cunningham and husband John, David A. Chastain and wife Amber, Dustin R. Brown, Matthew A. Valetta J. Brown, 81, of Bedford, formerly of Texas, died at 5:15 p.m. on Sunday at Garden Villa in Bedford.

Born July 1, 1932, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Elmer K. and Minnie (Hildum) Beal. She married James E. Brown, Sr. and he preceded her in death. She accompanied her husband to many locations while he was serving in the military. Upon his retirement, they returned to Abilene, Texas. She worked for the Texas Department of Mental Retardation until her retirement at which time she returned to Bedford. She was a member of the Wildwood Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas.

Survivors include two sons, James E. Brown and wife, Kristy of Bloomington, Kenneth Wayne Brown of Texas; two daughters Judith Wren and husband, Trey of Colorado, Jennifer Kaaikala and husband, Ben of Hawaii; a sister, Judith Beal of Williams; two brothers, Jackson Beal of Bloomington and Elmer K. Beal, Jr. of Oolitic. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Loren Beal.

Erma Louise Smith, 87, of Bedford went to be with her Lord on Saturday morning.

Born Jan. 14, 1926, in Speinkopj, Ind., she was the daughter of Roy and Gladys (Vaughn) Manion. She married Wallace Smith in 1959, and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, a member of the Tunnel Hill Pentecostal Church and the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include a son, Keith Smith of Bedford; three grandchildren, Brandon, Benjamin and Bryce Smith; two brothers, Marvin Manion of East Oolitic and Ken Manion of Oolitic. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Harold and Morris Manion.

Mildred Chapman

Mildred M. Chapman, age 97, of Williams passed away at 10:04 p.m. on Thursday at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford with her son and daughter-in-law at her side.

 Born Nov. 5, 1916, in Lawrence County, she was daughter of Marshall & Maudie (Withers) Brown. She married Ernest Ora Chapman on Nov. 24, 1938, and he preceded her in death on June 30, 1988.

Mildred worked at M. Fine & Sons, in Bedford for several years and left there to work at Crane Ammunition Depot until her retirement in 1975.

She was an active member of Victory Community Church of Bedford, Lucky Eight Bunco Club and NARFE. She had a fun-loving personality and enjoyed entertaining friends occasionally with her yodeling. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, playing the organ, spending time with her family and friends and sitting on her porch watching birds and waving at friends passing by.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter; Linda Ann (Chapman) Webster, one sister; Marjorie (Brown) Lynch, four brothers; Harold Brown, Arthur Brown, William Brown and Robert Brown.

She is survived by her son, Michael Lee (Rose-Mary) Chapman of Williams, two grandchildren, Jeanne Marie Webster and Dusty Dean Webster, both of Columbus, and several wonderful nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Cresthaven Funeral Home.

Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Cresthaven Funeral Home. A gathering for family and friends will be held during the visitation hours at Cresthaven Funeral Home.

Ray ‘Rip’ Collins

Ray “Rip” Collins, 89, of Linton passed away on Monday, Dec. 2, at his residence with his family by his side.  He was born in Foosland, Ill., on Aug. 27, 1924, to John and Lavada Pearl (Brock) Collins.

Rip was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post No. 22. Rip worked as an iron worker for 33 years before retiring in 1984.

Survivors include: two daughters, Carla Geary of Eckerty, and Ruth Ann Buher of Crown Point; one son, Mike Collins of Mitchell; three step-sons, Mike Ramey, Mark Ramey and Dave Ramey; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; long time friend and companion, Virginia “Gini” McKee, her son, Mark and daughter, Rita and beloved pet, Sasha.

Rip was preceded in death by: his parents; first wife, Velma Jo Chandler Collins; second wife, Lorene J. Ramey Collins and third wife, Glenna June Ricketts Curtis.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Linton First United Methodist Church.

John A. Harvey, 91, of Indianapolis, died Dec. 5, 2013.

On April 14, 1922, John was born to Charles and Mary Browning Steele Harvey in Bedford. He graduated from Bedford High School in 1942, where he was a member of the track team.

He attended the U.S. Navy V5 Pilot training program, but then joined the U.S. Army Air Force where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. John was a veteran of WW II and served as a crew member on a B17 and B25 missions in Europe. John was awarded the Air Medal. John was proud that his family had served in every war of the U.S.A. since the Revolutionary War.

After the war, John returned to his hometown where he met and married his beloved wife, Marlyce Bergman. John and Marlyce celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on July 31, 2013.

John worked as a metal press operator at Chevrolet Truck and Bus in Indianapolis, retiring in 1985 after 38 years.

Survivors include his wife; children: Joan M. Harvey and James A. Harvey both of Indianapolis, and Karen L. Harvey-Turner (Allen) of Chicago, IL; two granddaughters: Ruth Emma Harvey-Turner and Naomi Mae Harvey-Turner, three nieces and two nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Chromer Harvey, sister: Ruth Harvey, half brother: Roscoe Steele, half sister: Irene Steele Mullen

Jayne Poore Ripley

Jayne Poore Ripley, 82, passed away on November 12, 2013, with her family by her side.  Jayne was an energetic woman who dedicated her life to literacy, children and social change through her career in education.   Born in 1931 in Evanston, Illinois, Jayne graduated high school in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 16 and went on to pursue a B.A. in psychology and, later, a Master’s degree in Childhood Education at the University of Arkansas.  She received a Reading Specialist Certification from Indiana University in 1979.

Jayne worked as a reading teacher in Mitchell Community Schools from 1970 until she retired in 1995.  Actively involved in the community, Jayne was the discussion leader for the “Junior Great Books” club, president of the board for Little Theatre of Bedford, an activist for the Citizens for Better Environment, a member of the International Reading Association, and the recording secretary for the R.E.A.D. council. She was listed in Who’s Who of American Women in 1987.  Jayne was also an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Bedford.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Ripley, and parents, Earl Yates Poore and Mabel Ransom Poore. Jayne is survived by four sons, Mark, Trent (Karen), Kirk (Ruanne) and Paul. She is also survived by her two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, who are grateful to have spent time growing up and learning from their sweet, “kooky” grandma.

While Jayne loved many things including cooking, visiting the art museum and spending time with her sons, she was the most passionate about inspiring a love of reading within each and every one of her students. Leslie F. Goldsby, 77, of Mitchell, died at 8:32 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford.

Born April 23, 1936, in Lawrence County, he was the son of John Monroe and Nora (Brown) Goldsby. He married Joann McDermed on Oct. 4, 1959, and she survives. He retired as a maintenance worker at General Motors and was a bricklayer. He owned and operated the Persimmon Ridge Golf Course since 1993 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Cecil C. Martin Post No. 250 of Mitchell and of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include his wife, Joann, of Mitchell; a son, Les Curtis Goldsby and Carmen of Texas; two daughters, Beverly Goldsby Hanners and husband, Michael, Teresa Goldsby Grzech and husband, Matthew all of Virginia; two grandchildren; three brothers, Cecil Gary Goldsby of Bedford, Joe Goldsby of Mitchell and Wayne Goldsby of Spencer. Peggy Jean (Bush) Rocco, 75, lost her courageous battle with cancer at 8:29 pm on Monday, December 2, 2013. She passed from this life at her home, with loving family at her side.

Peggy was born on the 23rd of October, 1938, to William and Mattie Bush of Oolitic. She was the youngest child of the family, precocious and fiercely independent. Peggy left Indiana as a young adult, living briefly in Louisville and then for several years in Houston. At the age of 30, she returned to Indiana, where she lived her remaining years.

Peggy worked as a respiratory therapist in the local area for many years. She was retired from Bloomington Hospital, but continued to work in her field until only a few months ago. She most recently worked at Garden Villa in Bedford.

Peggy had a strong calling to help those less fortunate than herself. She loved music, traveling and new experiences of almost any kind. Most of all she loved her family and friends, by whom she will be sorely missed.

Peggy is survived by her brother, William Bush, Jr.; sisters, Matricia Butler and Mary Ellen (Junior) Sowders; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Patty Rocco; granddaughter, Jessy Rocco; great grandsons, Faolan Cook and Soren Gibson; fourteen nieces and nephews; a large extended family and her faithful corgi, Toby.

Peggy was preceded  in death by  her mother and father; step-mother, Estus Bush; brother, Robert Bush; sisters, Rosemary Jones and Deloris Riley; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Bush and Peg Bush; brothers-in-law, Max Butler, Robin Riley and Warren Jones.

She married James M. Guthrie on August 25, 1954; he preceded her in death on August 5, 1997.

She was a graduate of Bedford High School, Class of 1944. She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Hope Christian Church. She was an avid sports fan. She has been a season ticket holder of Bedford basketball since 1940.

Ronald David Blevens, 67, of Bedford, died at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Hospice House in Bloomington.

Born September 2, 1946 in Bedford, he was the son of Cecil and Evelyn Jane (Thompson) Blevens. He was a graduate of Bedford High School with the Class of 1966. Ronnie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the Marine Corps serving in Vietnam and the Mediterranean. He was later employed as a security guard at NWSC Crane and was a painter for Pritchett Bros. Construction.

Survivors include a daughter, Jenny Rich; a son, Jeff Blevens; a brother, Jim Blevens; three sisters, Suzi Todd, Janice Blevens and Tina McKee; two grandchildren, Hayden and Zander Rich; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Evelyn Blevens and a brother, Robert Cecil Blevens.

Nancy Elaine Chastain, 79, went to be with the Lord at 4:45 p.m. Monday at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.

Born May 27, 1934, in Tatham Springs, Ky., she was the daughter of Clarence and Effie Belle (Terrell) Terrell. She married Reverend Claude Chastain, Jr. July 9, 1953, and he preceded her in death October 4, 2013.

Nancy was a homemaker and a member of the Mitchell Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include a son, Don (Debbie) Chastain, Mitchell; daughters, Joyce (Jim) Coulter, Bedford, and Linda (Scott) Pendley, Bloomington; grandchildren, Stacy Bartlett, Joshua Chastain, Jonathan Holt, Katie Chastain, and Eric Holt; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Hubert Terrell, Mitchell.

Mildred Edith Connerley, 94, passed away at 3:52 p.m. Saturday at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

Born Nov. 17, 1919, in Mitchell, she was the daughter of Vaude and Lilly (Light) Dorsett. She married Floyd A. Connerley in 1936 and he preceded her in death Aug. 21, 1994.

Mildred was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Donald L. (Judy) Connerley, Mitchell; grandchildren, Donald Scott Connerley, Brian Lee (Margaret) Connerley, Brett Alan (Shannon) Connerley, Bradley J. (Michelle) Connerley, Maggie Connerley Snack; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Kiera, Kendra, Drew, Alexis, Jacob, Trevor and Hunter Connerley

Her parents; husband; and brothers, George Dorsett and Max Dorsett, preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Brother David Conley officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Robert Dale Basler, 44, loving father and best friend, passed away Friday morning, November 29, 2013, in Bloomington.

Born December 31, 1968, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Ed Myott and Nora (Smith) Basler. He was adopted by John Basler.

He loved fishing, camping and hunting.

Surviving: daughter, Shayla Jo Basler, Mitchell; former wife, Kathy (Moore) Basler, Mitchell; father, Ed Myott, Largo, Fla.; a sister, Michelle Grace, Williams; brother, Eddie Basler, Chattanooga, Tenn.; several adopted siblings and several nieces and nephews.

His parents preceded him in death.

Evelyn L. Hall passed away at 10:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at her residence.

She was born in Lawrence County on June 18, 1941, to Roy and Mary (Payton) Winegar.

Evelyn married Dean Hall on Feb. 9, 1962, in Lawrence County, and he survives.

She attended the Salvation Army and was an avid bowler and animal lover.

Survivors include her husband, Dean Hall of Bedford; one daughter, Christenia “Tina” Pence of Bedford; one son, Scott Hall of Oklahoma; one sister, Anita (Tim) Johnston of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Mary (Bob Smith) Hutslar, Katonya White, Michael Blunk, Jacob (Jenny) Blanton, Amanda Blunk and Klayton Pence; and great-grandchildren, Abbie White, Sarah Hutslar, Joshua and Joey Blunk, Johnny Blanton, Haley Blanton, Gracie Blanton, Tobie Jo Blanton, Kayden Blanton and Andrew Blanton.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Winifred “Donnie” Winegar.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford. Burial will be in Bonds Chapel Cemetery.

Barbara Rose Webb, 78, Campbellsburg, died Sunday at her home. Funeral service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Weathers Funeral Home in Salem.  Cremation will follow. Burial will be at a later date in Silverville Baptist Cemetery.

Robert (Bob) D, Brinegar Robert (Bob) D, Brinegar passed away 11/12/13 in Roswell, NM.  He was born in Oolitic, Indiana on May 7,1930.Graduated from Bedford High School. He is survived by his wife Sarah Moyer Brinegar of Roswell, and his half brother Gene Brinegar, of Newburgh, In, and a step sister Valeska Elrod of St Augustine, Fl, several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his father Stoddard Brinegar, mother Ruth Pirtle Brinegar, step mother Ethel Henderson Brinegar.  He was also preceded in death by a step brother Bob Carson. Darrell Arthur, 70, of Springville, passed away at 10:07 p.m. on Thursday, November 28, 2013, at IU Health, Bedford.

Born December 12, 1942, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Pikey and Nora E (Fulk) Arthur.

He married Sandy (Inman) Arthur on September 10, 1960; and she survives.

He retired from Ford/Visteon. He had also worked at Extruded Alloys. He attended Oolitic High School. He was a former member of Odd Fellows of Springville. He enjoyed driving stock cars and drag cars. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Surviving are his wife Sandy, of Springville; his mother, Nora E. Arthur, of Greene County; two sons, Robert Darrell (Beverly) Arthur, of Springville, and Randall Arthur, of Springville; one daughter, Kelly Arthur, of Bloomington; three brothers, Roger (Carolyn) Arthur, of Bloomfield, Rickey (Arlena) Arthur, of Springville, and Timmy (Jackie) Arthur, of Bloomfield; two sisters, Arlene (Jerry) Jackson, of Florida, and Lucy (Dana) Chambers, of Bloomfield; five grandchildren, Jarred Arthur, Robert “Jody” Arthur, Emma Arthur, James Tyler, and Hillary Repollett; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his best friend Rocky.

He was preceded in death by his father, and one sister, Judy Gardner.

Funeral service will be on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Springville West Cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday, December 2, 2013, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
