Ingle – Nola Mae Ingle of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born April 7, 1929, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Roy and Winnie Alice (Godsey) Cheek. She married Arvil Dale Ingle on January 1, 1956, and he died on December 6, 1968.
Surviving are four daughters: Becky Sparks, Cathy Dalton, Letha Sipes and Carole Reynolds all of Bedford, IN; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; three brothers: Ernest Franklin Cheek of Needmore, IN, Raymond Dean Cheek of Heltonville, IN, and Wallace Dale Cheek of Monticello, IN; three sisters: Rosalie Hammond of Needmore, IN, Lola Faye Carter of Bedford, IN, and Cathleen Joyce Nelson of Oolitic, IN; several nieces, nephews and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Alice Fay and one sister, Effie Grace.
She was a homemaker and had been employed at RCA in Bloomington. She attended the Gulletts Creek Baptist Church.
There will be graveside services for Nola Ingle at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 3rd, at Cresthaven Memory Gardens with the Rev. Richard Tallman officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 1:45 pm on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.

Grubb – Goldie "Laverne" Grubb of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, November 28, 2004, at Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington. Born May 6, 1922, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Louis and Pearl (Branaman) Wilkerson. She married Clyde Grubb on November 20, 1939, and he preceded her in death in 1984.
Surviving are two daughters: Priscilla Harrell and her husband, Max, and Wanda Starr and her husband, John, all of Bedford, IN; six grandchildren: Pam Walton and her husband, Dave, of Bloomington, IN, Ronnie Harrell and his wife, Deanna, of Bedford, IN, Kelly Talbott of St. Petersburg, FL, Bobbi Haverly and her husband, Steve, of Mitchell, IN, Brian Slinkard and his wife, Tina, and Brent Slinkard, all of Bedford, IN; five great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one step-granddaughter, Kim Wilkerson and her husband, Bill, of Clear Spring, IN; three step-great-grandchildren; one stepbrother; two stepsisters; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, and one son-in-law.
She retired from M. Fine & Sons Inc., formerly of Bedford and was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Bedford.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 2nd, at the First Assembly of God Church of Bedford. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens of Bedford. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until the service on Thursday at the church.
O'Brien – Hillis W. O'Brien of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, November 28, 2004, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born June 14, 1912, in Ripley County, IN, he was the son of Clarence and Bertha (Martin) O'Brien. He married Eva Gaines on December 26, 1932, and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include five nieces: Beverly Dalton of Bedford, Bonnie Terrell and family of Scottsburg, Patty O'Brien, Cinny Weston and Debby Felix, all of Indianapolis; great-nieces: Catherine Concannon and Laura Stroud and family, all of Bedford; one great-nephew, James Concannon of Orlando, Fla.; great-niece, Christian Black and family of Franklin; and several great-great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; one brother, Martin O'Brien; two sisters: Geraldine Berrisford and Mae Lenz; and one nephew, George Berrisford.
He retired from Alfred's Lunch Room and was employed at Citizens National Bank in Bedford for 17 years. He was affiliated with the First Christian Church of Bedford.
At the request of the deceased, the body will be cremated. No services are scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary of Bedford.

Gwin – Charles Edward Gwin of Bedford, IN, died on Saturday, November 27, 2004, at his residence. He was born October 24, 1921, in Lafayette, IN. He married Pearl Smith and she preceded him in death in 1991.
Surviving are one son, Danny Gwin of LaGrange, KY; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild and two great great grandchildren.
He was a member of the Grace Full Gospel Church in Bedford.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 30th, at the Grace Full Gospel Church with Pastor Brent O’Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery in Monroe County. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the service time on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Waller – Mary Etta Waller of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, November 27, 2004, at the Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born April 29, 1920, in Hart County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Elmo and Loney (Wilcox) Brown. She married Chester L. Waller on May 12, 1956 and he died on March 17, 1985.
Survivors include one daughter, Joan E. Waller of Bedford; two sisters, Mattie Thornton of Bedford, IN, and Alberta Rice of Cambellsville, KY; one brother, George T. Brown of Bedford, IN, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Willie R. and William Wilford Brown; two sisters, Edna Brashear and Velma Lou Brown (in infancy).
She was a retired dayworker and a member of the Second Baptist Church of Bedford.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 2nd, at the Second Baptist Church in Bedford with Rev. Donald Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 12:00 noon until the service time on Thursday at the Second Baptist Church.

Wheeler – Robert D. Wheeler of Mitchell, IN, died Friday, November 26, 2004, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born January 15, 1931, in Terre Haute, IN, he was the son of Byron and Edna (Ford) Wheeler. He married Janice D. Mitchell Sims on December 1, 1984, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are four children: Yolanda Houtchings of Mitchell, IN, Joseph “J. Bob” Wheeler of U.S. Navy, Derrick Wheeler and Tia Wheeler, both at home; two step-daughters, Paralee Daggy of Bedford, IN, and Mandy Pemberton Sims of Mitchell, IN; one step-son, Donald Byrum of Peru, IN; one brother, J. Ronald Wheeler of Avon, IN; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Billy Joe Wheeler.
He was a retired millwright welder for GM Powertrain and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #440, the Mitchell Masonic Lodge #238, Mitchell American Legion and a twenty-eight year member of ABATE.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, November 29th, the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Larry Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00- 8:00 pm on Sunday, November 28th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary. A Masonic Service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Sunday at the mortuary.

Butler – Ralph A. Butler of Bedford, IN, died Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born May 19, 1937, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Bruce and Edith (Crabb) Butler.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Butler of Bedford, IN; two brothers, Ray Butler of Mitchell, IN, and Paul Butler of Oolitic, IN; and five sisters: Ethel Jensen of Austin, MN, Bessie George of Venice, FL, Wilma Nevitt of Shepardsville, KY, Cindy Buckles of Bradenton, FL, and Nancy Weaver of Richland, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a mechanic at Reynolds, Inc. He was a member of the Dive Christian Church, where he served as deacon; and he was a member of Limestone Crusaders.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 27th, at Cresthaven Funeral Home with Brother Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Dive Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Hendershott – George Hendershott of Mitchell, IN, formerly of Champaign, IL, died Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehab Center. Born November 5, 1926, in Ford County, IL, he was the son of Earl and Fern (Coon) Hendershott. He marrried Mildred Hinkley July 7, 1973, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Mike Hendershott of Paxton, IL; five daughters: Cynthia Hendershott of Mitchell, IN, Karen Kief of Rankin, IL, Liza Vaughn of Paxton, IL, Marla Reeder, of Brentwood, MO, and Lana Lee of Paxton, IL; one brother, James Hendershott, of Champaign, IL, three sisters: Mary Fitton of Rantoul, IL, Lorene Christians of Urbana, IL, and Marjory Shilts of Mahomet, IL; and several grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Hunter – Barbara Hunter of Norman, IN, died Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born December 13, 1930, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Arthur and Ethel (Cooper) Bailey. She married Ivan Hunter and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Doyle Wesley Hunter and his wife, Rita, of Indianapolis, and Gary Leroy Hunter and his wife, Barbara Ann, of Montezuma, IN; three daughters, Sharon Baldwin and her husband, Dale, and Carol Hunter, all of Norman, IN, and Joni Godsey and her husband, Andy, of Bedford, IN; one brother, Ronald Bailey of Bloomington, IN; one sister, Jeanie Manion and her husband, Marvin, of Oolitic, IN; 12 grandchildren: Mendy, Whitney and Elizibeth Baldwin, Drew, Ashley, Lauryn and Ivan Hunter, and Gabrielle, Micah, Candace, Angelicca and Alexandria Godsey; and two nieces, Helen White of Taylor, MI, and Amber Bailey of Bedford, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.
She was a homemaker and had worked at RCA in Bloomington. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Bedford and the Flatwood Neighbors Club.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 27th, at the Free Methodist Church of Bedford with the Rev. David Colgan officiating. Burial will follow in Gilgal Cemetery in Heltonville. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home of Heltonville and from 10 a.m. until the service time on Saturday at the church. Thompson – Clara Strunk Turpin Thompson of Bedford, IN, died Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born November 20, 1912, she was the daughter of Fount and Emma (Hardwick) Strunk. She married Lloyd Turpin on May 28, 1930, and he died on May 27, 1963. She later married George Thompson on June 22, 1971, and he died on April 28, 1989.
Surviving are two daughters, Agnes Vaught and Brenda Canada, both of Bedford, IN; one son, Randy Turpin of Springville, IN; a stepdaughter, Anneta Dawson of Loogootee, IN; a stepson, George Thompson of Bloomington, IN; three sisters: Anna Connor of Springville, IN, Nancy Stout of Bedford, IN, and Winnie VanSant of Mooresville, IN; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both husbands; her parents; two sons, Tom and Jim Turpin; two sisters, Bessie Strunk and Betty Baugh; and four brothers: Luther, Clarence, Orville and Leonard.
She was a specialty cook at various restaurants in the area and a member of the Friendly Bible Church in Bedford.

Cobb – Dennis E. Cobb of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at his residence. Born November 23, 1928, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Robert and Verla (Ledington) Cobb. He married Valeska F. Carson and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Daniel D. Cobb and his wife, Joy (Tilson) of Indianapolis; three grandsons: Allen D. Scheuer, Tyler D. Cobb and Brady G. Cobb, all at home; two brothers, Dale Cobb of Indianapolis and Gary Cobb of Solsberry, IN; two sisters, LaVerne Speer and Delores Crane, both of Bedford, IN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He retired as an X-ray technician for GM Powertrain in 1982. He was a graduate of Oolitic High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of American Legion Gillen Post No. 33 of Bedford and UAW Union Local No. 440; and he was an avid golfer and a city-champion bowler.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Monday, November 29th, at the Red Brick at Otis Park Golf Course. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery with graveside military rites accorded by members of American Legion Gillen Post No. 33. Spires – Charles (Gene) Spires of Bedford, IN, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at his residence. Born August 13, 1926, in Bedford, IN, he was the son of Opal and Thelma (Bush) Spires. He married Helen R. Barnett on November 24, 1943, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are four sons: Michael and Stephen Spires, both of Bedford, IN, Gregory Spires of Bloomington, IN, and Tracy Spires of Colorado; one brother, Wayne Spires of Bedford, IN; one sister, Marylin Brown of Williams, IN; 10 grandchildren: Stephanie Spires, Jeremy Spires, Michele Mason, Chris Spires, Tymon Spires, Camden Spires, Dason Spires, Angela Spires, John Spires and Casandra Spires; three great grandchildren: Jared, Dustin and Landon Mason; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a heavy equipment operator for forty-six years and a member of the Englewood Baptist Church. He was a veteran of WW II, serving with the U.S. Army and was a member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM, where he had received his twenty-five year pin.

Staggs – Susie Ikerd Staggs of Bedford, IN, died Monday, November 22, 2004, at her residence. Born November 30, 1953, in Bedford, IN, she was the daughter of Larry and Nancy (Banks) Ikerd. She married Kenneth Michael Staggs on January 17, 1981, and he survives.
Surviving with her husband are her parents, Larry and Nancy Ikerd of Bedford, IN; one daughter, Jessica Bailey and her husband, Cody, of Bedford, IN; two sons, Jared Staggs and his wife, Jessica, and Bryan Staggs, all of Bedford, IN; three brothers: Jeff Ikerd, David Ikerd and Larry Ikerd, all of Bedford, IN; two sisters, Julie Stout and Lisa Ramsay, both of Bedford, IN; and one grandson, Colton Michael Staggs of Bedford.
She had been a nuclear medicine technologist since 1976. She had worked at Dunn Memorial Hospital, Bloomington Hospital, Washington County Hospital and Bedford Regional Medical Center. She was a 1972 graduate of Bedford High School and a 1976 graduate of IUPUI. She attended First Baptist Church in Bedford. She was a member of Nuclear Medicine Society; Indiana University Alumni Association; Natural Resources Defense Council; the Wilderness Society; the Humane Society of the United States; Sierra Club; the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; and the Red Hat Society.
Funeral services for Susie Staggs will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 24th, at the First Baptist Church of Bedford, with the Rev. Charles Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens with graveside services to be conducted by the Rev. Jon Lineback. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home of Bedford; and from 11 a.m. until the service time Wednesday at the church. Hayes – Elizabeth Ruth Hayes of Springville, IN, died Sunday, November 21, 2004, at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born May 22, 1921, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of William (Bill) Hatfield and Roxie (Williams) Hatfield. She married Farrell Hayes on August 14, 1948 and he survives.
Surviving with her husband are three daughters: Carol A. Bush and her husband, Danny, of Springville, IN; Susie Hayes and her husband, Craig Striepe, of Sarasota, FL; Sally Hutton and her husband, Rick, of Springville, IN; two sons: John W. Hayes and his wife, Delilah, of Springville, IN, and Ed M. Hayes of Bedford, IN; ten grandchildren: Alan Bush; Cara McKnight; Matthew Messina; Patrick Kline; Jeff Hayes; Kevin Hayes; Kyle, Kory, and Kolby Hutton; Jessie Elizabeth Hayes; three great grandchildren: Coy McKnight; Chloe McKnight and Taylor Hayes; one sister: Helen Hatfield of Bedford, IN; and one brother, Jake Hatfield of Bedford, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a homemaker.

Franklin – Jim Bob Franklin of Oolitic, IN, died Saturday, November 20, 2004, at Bedford Regional Medical Center from injuries resulting from an ATV accident. Born March 24, 1979, in Ypsilanti, MI, he was the son of Jon and Carol Sue (Childers) Franklin.
Surviving are his parents of Oolitic, IN; and two sisters, Tangie Jenkins of Oolitic, IN, and Sandy Burnett of Bedford, IN; two nieces, Brittney Jenkins of Oolitic, IN, and Macee Sue Burnett of Bedford, IN; grandmother, Florence Childers of Bedford, IN; grandfather, David Franklin of Bedford, IN; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Winfred Childers, and his grandmother, June Franklin..
He was a laborer for Architectural Stone in Bedford.
Services for Jim Bob Franklin will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 23rd, at Day and Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday and one hour before service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Freed – Burl G. Freed of Saltillo, IN, died Friday, November 19, 2004, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehab Center. Born February 22, 1913, in Orange County, IN, he was the son of William Henry and Janie Bell (Grant) Freed. He married Mildred Frances Trinkle who preceded him in death and then he married Rowena May Smith November 5, 1949.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Reginald Freed, of Campbellsburg, IN; one daughter, Rheta A. Ziegler of Indianapolis, IN; one sister, Hazel Neideffer of Mitchell, IN; two grandchildren, Lorinda Houchin and Chad Ziegler; and three great-grandchildren, Brandon Houchin, Misty Houchin, and Jackson Ziegler. He was preceded in death by his first wife; and two sisters, Opal Rife, and Mary Taylor.
He was a retired employee of Carpenter Body Works and a member of Saltillo Christian Church.

Hawkins – Beulah "Granny" Hawkins of Bedford, IN, died Friday, November 19, 2004, at White River Lodge. She was born March 13, 1921, in Lawrence County, IN, to Dell Arthur and Mandy Meadows Covey. She married Perry H. Hawkins in Monroe County, IN, on January 27, 1951. He died on October 21, 1986.
Surviving are one son, Philip Hawkins and his wife, Joyce; six grandchildren including Misty and her mother, Susan, Troy and his wife, Laura, Dusty and his wife, Jessica, Terra and her husband, Randy, Timmy, and Meranda; and also 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Scott and Helen Kinser; one brother, Robert Covey, all of Bedford, IN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Buster and Lloyd Covey; and one sister, Vidella Kinser.
She worked at RCA, Ideal Laundry, Home Laundry, Inn of the Four Winds, and also did bookkeeping for her husband, Perry, when he was trustee for Polk Township. She attended Burgoon Baptist Church and New Hope Community Church.
Services for Beulah Hawkins will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 23rd, at Jones Funeral Home in Heltonville, with Bros. Harold Godsey, Doug Martin and Jim Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitations will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Jones Funeral Home in Heltonville.

Strunk – Sena Rebecca Ann Strunk of Springville, IN, Thursday, November 18, 2004. Born June 15, 1912. in Wayne County, KY, she was the daughter of Robert F. and Armilda (Keith) Owens. She married Luther Strunk on June 22, 1929, and he died October 6, 1976.
Surviving are four sons: Eugene Strunk and his wife, Jean, of Springville, IN, Robert Strunk and his wife, Sharon, of Nashville, TN, Claude Strunk and his wife, Kathryn, of Taswell, IN, and Donald Strunk and his wife, Sandy, of Bedford, IN; three daughters: Betty Edwards-Pencek and her husband, Joe, of Kokomo, IN, Linda Phillips and her husband, Larry, of Springville, IN, and Bonnie Silvers and her husband, Ron, of Oolitic, IN; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; fourteen step-great-grandchildren and ten step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Lou Ann Strunk (in infancy); four brothers: Elbern, Clarence, Willie and Vincent Owens; two sisters, Celestia Strunk and Edna Owens; son-in-law, Jim Edwards, and daughter-in-law, Karen Strunk.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Crossroads Community Church. She was a Sunday School teacher and had played the old pump organ at Patton Hill Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, November 22nd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Wendell Phillips and Bro. Eugene Strunk officiating. Burial will follow in Springville Christian Cemetery. Ramey – Evangeline Ramey of Mitchell, IN, died Sunday, November 14, 2004, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehab Center. Born November 28, 1908, in Mitchell, IN, she was the daughter of Guy and Martha (Dove) Lewis. She married Clayton Ramey October 3, 1930, and he died February 1, 1985.
Surviving are one daughter, Joan Fletcher and her husband, David, of Carmel, IN; one son, Larry Ramey and his wife, Jan, of Mooresville, IN; one sister, Mary Gross of McCordsville, IN; five grandchildren: Mark Fletcher, John Fletcher, DeAnn Ramey, Jana Ramey and Kevin Ramey; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters: Josephine Beaver and Dorothy Harwood.
She was a retired employee of Crawford Morris Lumber Company and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mitchell. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1926, was an associate member of Gamma Epsilon chapter of Tri Kappa, and a member of the Spring Mill Stitchers.

Rayhill-Chapman – Cristen Dawn Rayhill-Chapman of Bedford, IN, died Sunday evening, November 14, 2004, as the result of an automobile accident. Born February 4, 1982, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Chuck D. and Sherry L. (Baker) Rayhill.
Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Sherry and Tony McNeely of Mitchell, IN; her father and stepmother, Chuck and Pam Rayhill of Orleans, IN; two sisters, Crystal Lynn Rayhill and Christanna Danielle Rayhill, both of Mitchell, IN; two brothers, Cory Dale Rayhill of Orleans, IN, and Craig Derrick Rayhill of Mitchell, IN; four step-brothers: Denver McNeely and wife, Jennifer, Matthew McNeely and wife, Missy, all of Mitchell, IN, and Levy "Nick" Howe and Jordan Howe, both of Orleans, IN; her grandmother, Marilyn Baker of Springville, IN; one niece, Cyndee Lynn Rayhill, and two step-nieces, Madison Elizabeth and Gabby Frances McNeely. Her grandparents, Gerald Baker and Mary Jane and Charles Rayhill preceded her in death.
She was a member of Williams Baptist Church and a 2000 graduate of Mitchell High School. While in school, she was active in SADD, the high school band, and Who's Who Among American High School Students. She was a ten-year member of the Busy Hands 4-H Club.

Bartlett – Fred Bartlett of Heltonville, IN, died Saturday, November 13, 2004, at his residence. Born on June 8, 1935, he was the son of Earl Bartlett and Evelyn (Sowder) Bartlett. He married Judith K. Cobb on September 16, 1961, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are one son, Brian Bartlett and his wife, Kelli, of Heltonville, IN; one daughter, Jill Chastain and her husband, Greg, of Mitchell, IN; four grandchildren, Brianna and Braden Bartlett and Zachary and Sarah Chastain; one brother, Paul Bartlett of Heltonville, IN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Marjorie Turner; and one brother, Harold "Peck" Bartlett.
He was a 1954 graduate of Heltonville High School; a retired truck driver and grain farmer.

Foster – Larry D. Foster of Williams, IN, died at 8:41 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2004,at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN. Born December 25, 1940, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Eugene and Edith (Green) Foster. He married Rhea Alexander on March 21, 1959, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Tammy Cassidy and her husband, Toby, and Pamela Phillips and her husband, Tracy, all of Bedford, IN; four grandchildren: Tyson Lynch, Tyler Phillips, Shane and Jaylyn Cassidy; three sisters: Sharon Benefiel of Indianapolis, and Gilda Snow and Vivian Walsh, both of Bedford, IN; and one brother, Gerald Foster of Shoals, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin sister, Louise Foster and his sister, Carolyn Bennett; two brothers, Donald and Michael Foster; and one granddaughter, Dietra Dawn Lynch.
He retired after 37 years with RCA in Bloomington. He was a member of Williams First Baptist Church.

Kinder – Jewell K. Kinder of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, November 13, 2004, at StoneBridge Health Campus in Bedford. Born on October 26, 1923, in Kurtz (Jackson County), IN, she was the daughter of John Wesley and Odessa Shirley (Callahan) Crouch. She married Walter Kinder and he died in 1995.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Dykes and her husband, Leland, of Bedford, IN, and Linda Payton and her husband, Eddie, of Shoals, IN; one son, Larry Kinder and his wife, Connie, of Bedford, IN; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters, Mary Clampitt and Ruthie Crouch, who died in infancy. She was a homemaker.

Schultz – Mary L. Schultz of Bedford, IN, formerly of Mitchell, IN, died Thursday, November 11, 2004, at White River Lodge. Born on September 2, 1930, in Mitchell, IN, she was the daughter of David C. and Sylvia (Tincher) Jones. She married Joseph Emmerson Schultz and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Teresa Keith and her husband, Roger, of Allardt, TN; three step-sons: Jack Schultz of Belmont, OH, Roger Schultz of Bedford, IN, and William Schultz of Walton Beach, FL; four step-daughters: Karen Arthur of Orleans, IN, Sandra Williams of Mitchell, IN, Barbara Webb of Saltillo, IN, and Kathryn Cox of Bedford, IN; three brothers: Joe, Johnny, and Delbert Jones, all of Mitchell, IN; three sisters: Thelma Denny and Betty Stancombe, both of Mitchell, IN, and Robert Tow of Bedford, IN; two grandchildren, Ricki Lee Ann Reynolds and Richard Evert Reynolds, and fourteen step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, George Jones; and two sisters, Elsie Irwin and Joyce Gilligan.
She retired from Traveler's Corporation in Orleans, IN.

Hanna – Jack E. Hanna of Bedford, IN, died Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at Bloomington Hospital. Born on July 2, 1931, in Bloomington, IN, he was the son of Earl and Monzelle (Quackenbush) Hanna. He married Claudia Farley Meadows in 1973 and she survives.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Patty Siscoe of Oregon and Debbie Drunkers of Bloomington, IN; four step-children: Darryl Meadows of Mooresville, IN, Randall Meadows of Indianapolis, Judy Lamar of Brownsburg, IN, and Joann Hearld of Henderson, TN; fourteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Davis of Ellettsville, IN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Douglas.
He was retired from RCA, had been self-employed and had worked for Indiana University as an usher and guard for sporting events. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church and Gillen Post #33 American Legion.

Foutch – Marjorie I. Foutch of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, November 7, 2004, at Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on September 24, 1919, in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of Roy and Nellie (Elrod) Lancaster. She married George Jackman on December 24, 1941, and he died June 30, 1948. She married Leroy Foutch Jr. on November 4, 1949, and he died July 31, 1967.
Surviving are one daughter, Jackie Moore and her husband, Danny, of Bedford, IN; one stepdaughter, Sharron Cowden and her husband, Jim, of Bloomington, IN; two grandchildren: Erin Blosser and her husband, Mark, of Fishers, IN, and Jason Moore and his wife, Becky, of Bedford, IN; one step-granddaughter, Annette Meadows of Bloomington, IN; six great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandsons; one brother, Howard Lancaster of Springhaven, FL.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both husbands and two brothers: Charles and Bernard Lancaster.
A 1938 graduate of Bedford High School, she was a homemaker, a veteran of the Women's Air Corps, having served during World War II, and she was of the Christian faith.

King – Roger Wayne King of Huron, IN, died Sunday, November 7, 2004, at Dunn Memorial Hospital, Bedford. Born August 14, 1941, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Roy Emerson and Louise Elizabeth (Prewitt) King. He was formerly married to Evelyn R. Passmore.
Surviving are three sons: Rick D. King and Gregory C. King, both of Mitchell, IN, and Jeffrey W. King of Heltonville, IN; three daughters: Shelly R. Terrell of Huron, IN, Debra J. King of Mitchell, IN, and Cheryl L. Bewley of Patricksburg, IN; one brother, James E. King of Mitchell, IN; and one sister, Patricia Scott of Waverly, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A 1960 graduate of Huron High School, he was a retired employee of Visteon with 14 years of service and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Order of Eagles No. 654 and of Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post No. 250.

Robertson – Keith Robertson of Norman, IN, died Sunday, November 7, 2004, at his residence. Born December 25, 1917, he was the son of Anderson and Pearl (Fleetwood) Robertson. He was raised by his grandparents, Clark and Mary (Sipes) Fleetwood. He married Marietta Ammerman and she survives.
Surviving with his wife of 58 years are one daughter, Sandra R. Ault and her fiancé, Leonard T. Denniston; two grandsons, Robert K. Ault and his fiancée Lana Roberts, and Billy J. Ault and his wife, Sandy; several step-great-grandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Raegene Scrogans and her husband Everett of Medora and Alma Hartwell of Plymouth; one stepsister, Crystal Pyke of Maryland; one sister-in-law, Betty Robertson of Nashville; and three stepbrothers, Warren and Elwood Sparks, both of Bloomington, and Donnie Sparks of Martinsville. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his mother, Pearl J. (Fleetwood); and his stepfather, Alferd Sparks; his father, Anderson Robertson and stepmother, Lilly (Hedrick) Robertson; one brother, Lloyd Robertson; one stepbrother, Jim Sparks; two stepsisters, Molly Vaught and Betty Gentry; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was a bus driver for 34 years until 1967, then worked for the Federal Government at Hardin Ridge until his retirement, was a lifelong farmer, and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Masonic Cedar Lodge No. 161, F. & A.M., since 1979, the Leesville Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and the Heltonville Baptist Church.

Hawkins – Bert Hawkins of Bedford, IN, died Saturday, November 06, 2004, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on April 11, 1930, in Monroe County, IN, he was the son of Cecil and Grace (Shields) Hawkins. He married Carolyn Joann Covey on December 10, 1955, and she died on January 18, 2003.
Surviving is one son, Greg Hawkins of Bedford, IN; one grandson: Tyson Coursey and his wife, Karen. of Arkansas; two great grandchildren: Josie and Joseph Coursey. both of Arkansas; two sisters, Boots Martin of Ellettsville, IN, and Kathryn Moser of Bloomington, IN; two brothers, Edward Hawkins and his wife, Jewell, and Ermil Hawkins and his wife, Vivian, all of Bloomington, IN; two sister-in-laws, Viola Hawkins of Evansville, IN, and Gladys Hawkins of Bloomington, IN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one daughter: Cherie Coursey on November 5, 2004; and two brothers: Ernest and Billie Hawkins.
He retired from NSWC in Crane, IN, was also employed at Dana Corporation in Mitchell, and was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in the South Pacific arena. He was a past member of Sander Pentecostal Church in Bloomington.

Burton – Pauline E. Burton of Mitchell, IN, died Friday, November 5, 2004, at Bloomington Hospital of Orange County, Paoli. Born November 1, 1917, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Orville and Viola Madden. She married Willard H. Burton April 17, 1937, and he died on July 19, 2001.
Surviving are one son, James R. Burton and his wife, Judy, of Columbia, MO; five grandchildren: Joel Burton, Bree Burton, Wendy Standefer, Jim Burton, and Jay Burton; and one great grandson, Jordon Standefer. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Jerry D. Burton; three brothers, Paul, Bob, and Junior Madden; and one granddaughter, Jill Ann Burton.
She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant View Church of Christ.

Coursey – Cherie Jo. Coursey of Bedford, IN, died Friday, November 5th 2004, at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born on July 28, 1956 in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Bert and Carolyn Joann (Covey) Hawkins.
Surviving is one son,Tyson and his wife, Karen, of Jacksonville, AR; one brother, Greg Hawkins of Bedford, IN; two grandchildren, Josie and Joseph Coursey of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her mother and was followed in death by her father (11/07/04).
She was a nurse’s aide for 29 years in Lawrence County and was a member of Cornerstone Worship Center in Bedford.
Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 9th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Judah Church of Christ Cemetery with Pastor Rodney Reynolds and Rev. Buck Smith officiating. Burial will follow. Born on April 3, 1929, in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Morrel and Marjorie (Peale) Meadows. She married Roy C. Maddox on September 20, 1945, and he preceded her in death in 1985.
Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Dale Patton and her husband, Kevin of Gosport, IN, and Janice Elaine Ridgway and her husband, George, of Westphalia, IN; two sons, Wallace Edwin Maddox and his wife, Letitia of Bloomington, IN, and Gregory Lynn Maddox and his companion, Beatrice Travis; three grandchildren: Joy Ella Maddox, Gordon Drake Maddox and Ashley Kristine Patton; one great granddaughter, Elyse Nicole Brewer; two brothers, Robert E. She married Merle (Hap) Franklin and he preceded her in death. She later married Jack Duncan and he also preceded her in death.

Silvers – Gertrude “Gertie” Silvers of Bedford, IN, passed away at 9:22 A.M. Tuesday, November 2nd at Dunn Memorial Hospital.
Born in Lawrence County, IN on September 4, 1919, she was the daughter of Winfred Gilstrap and Hazel (Hook) Gilstrap. She was a nurse retiring after thirty years from Dunn Memorial Hospital. A fifty three year member of the First Baptist Church of Bedford, she was also a member of the AARP. She married Earl Silvers on June 29, 1946 and he survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Earl of Bedford is three brothers: Luther Kenneth Gilstrap and his wife, Mary of Bedford; William C. Gilstrap and his wife, Norma of Bedford and Leland Winfred Jr. Gilstrap and his wife, Louise of Atlanta, GA; seven nieces, five nephews, several great and great, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Verl Gilstrap.

Kress – David A. Kress of Bedford, IN, died at 4:50 pm on Monday, November 1, 2004, at his residence. Born September 10, 1962, in Lafayette, IN, he was the son of Jack and Donna (Chapman) Kress. He married Lori Piercefield on December 23, 1982 and she survives.
Surviving with his wife, Lori are his parents; one daughter, Kristen Kress of Bloomington, IN; one brother, Curt Kress and his wife, Toni of Bedford; paternal grandparents, Jack and Anna Kress of Linton, IN; three nieces: Callie Noble, Morgan Kress and Rebecca Kress, all of Bedford, IN; and one nephew, Don Kress of Bedford, IN. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Rebecca Chapman.
He was employed by South Lawrence Utilities in Bedford and was a member of the Bedford Boat and Sportsmans Club. He was a graduate of BNL with the class of 1980.

Phillips – Norma L. Phillips of Springville, died Monday, November 1, 2004 at her residence. Born January 26, 1936 in Lawrence County, IN, she was the daughter of Walter and Lucy Della (Greer) Neely. She married R. C. Phillips on December 14, 1954 and he preceded her in death in 1992.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Flynn of Texas, Lou Edith Phillips and Wilma Faye Phillips both of Springville; two sons, Donnie Phillips and his wife, Patricia and Roger Phillips and his wife, Carla all of Springville; grandchildren, Aleah Flynn and her husband, Richard Meinecke of Texas, Rachel Eads and her husband, Joe of Bedford, Misty and Leighton Browning of Oolitic, Derik Phillips and his wife Eva of Springville, Brandon Ashley of Bedford, Dustin and Tela Weldon of Williams; two step-grandchildren, Brandi Eads of Scotland and Tyler Eads of Bedford; fifteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Joann Graves of Henderson, KY and Paulette Gilbert of Springville; three brothers, Bob Neely of Mitchell, Charles Neely of Mobile, AL and Roger Neely of Oolitic. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Smith of Bedford; two sons, David Smith of Florida and Solomon Smith of Montana; three daughters: Tina Cundiff of Spencer, IN and Shannon and Sandy Smith, both at home; three brothers: Harold Smith of Hartford, AL., Farrell Smith of Bellwood, AL, and Edward Smith of Florida; and two sisters, Margaret Lloyd of Rich Lands, NC, and Jimmie Sue Faingert of Red Level, AL.
He was a disabled dairy farmer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dive Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
