Superior STEAM is a year-long youth development program dedicated to teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) through FIRST® Robotics and other hands-on lessons, activities, and competitions. Superior STEAM was founded in 2019 to give kids ages 6-18 the opportunity to learn personal and technical skills through the FIRST Robotics programs and other hands-on, STEAM-related lessons and activities. While technical skills, like building and programming, are important for STEAM, we—being part of 4-H and FIRST Robotics—know the importance of personal skills like communication and teamwork.
To accomplish that mission, we host several Annual Pipeline Programs (APPs) that are
created and run by the student members of the Club. The 3rd Annual STEAM Week is a free,
week-long camp that has several workshops for kids of all ages to experience what the club
does year-round. The camp takes place June 3rd through June 8th 5-8pm. Each night of the
week there will be a new set of activities for attendees to participate in. Down below is the
week's plan!
Monday 6/3 - OSMO (interactive, technology-based education games)
Tuesday 6/4 - 3 hour-long surprise student-led educational crafts/activities
Wednesday 6/5 - Think Like an Engineer (hands-on models that demonstrate different
scientific principles for students to assemble)
Thursday 6/6 - 3 hour-long surprise student-led educational crafts/activities
Friday 6/7 - LEGO Lessons (student-led lessons on how to build LEGO robots)
Saturday 6/8 (Bonus Day) - Game party in celebration of the weeks accomplishments
